Below the streets of Paris lurks an entire secret history of the city’s dead. On this unique storytelling tour, you’ll visit the Paris Catacombs to see the remains of millions of Parisians and learn about the fascinating ways in which this ancient city has dealt with its dead. As you explore these eerie tunnels you also enjoy parts of the Catacombs usually closed to the public and facts and stories from an expert local guide.

Please note: This tour has a decreased group size of six people and a modified price on select days to allow for a more intimate experience.

Unfortunately due to the nature of this tour it is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments or with wheelchairs, or strollers.

Areas visited during this tour are subject to closure. Your guide may need to modify areas visited on the day of the tour.

The catacombs are subject to closures due to strikes. If time permits, we will reach out to you prior to your tour. For last-minute closures, cancellations may be communicated at the meeting point.

The Paris Catacombs

Once inside, your knowledgeable guide ushers you through the extensive subterranean network, created when Parisian leaders undertook the greatest civil engineering project of their time to address the overcrowding in their city's cemeteries. Tour the Catacombs' main tunnels to discover a city of dead beneath the City of Lights and then explore two special access tunnels.

    The guide was great, but I paid for a private tour of a group no larger then 6, we had 14 in our group.

    I am sure the tour would have been great however the traffic getting to meeting spot was horrible and we missed the tour by 5 minutes. I texted the tour guide to let them know we were on our way, but traffic was holding us up but received no response. I spent $428 on this tour and despite leaving 40 minutes in advance to get there early enough, they counted me as a no show. I was there, o Lu 5 minutes late. No refund, or replacement tour. Disappointed, we were really really looking forward to it.

    We really enjoyed the catacombs tour with tour guide Leo. She added depth to the experience that we would've missed if we had only done the audio tour. The experience was amazing because Leo shared more things about and relating to the catacombs that we wouldn't have learned or saw if we didn't have her as our tour guide. Leo's passion for the catacombs was wonderful as she pointed out points of interest and shared the history of the site. If you have the opportunity to visit the catacombs it is definitely worth it to schedule your tour with Leo. Your experience will be greatly enriched by reserving her as your tour guide.💯

    Leo was a great guide with a lot of knowledge about the Catacombs. She shared the history and her passion for the catacombs and was very respectful to those who are resting there.

    We could not get in. The man at the door told us we needed a printed ticket and yelled at me in French and proceeded to let everyone else in with their app.
