USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park

USS Bowfin is a fleet attack submarine that fought in the Pacific during WWII, and helped to make famous the term, “Silent Service.” Bowfin was launched on 7 December 1942, exactly one year after the attack on Pearl Harbor. She was nicknamed the Pearl Harbor Avenger, so it is fitting that her permanent home is at Pearl Harbor, Hawai’i.

It is a must do if you have never been. Be sure to plan to spend the entire day and explore everything. What an emotional roller coaster and full of facts and history.

We did an all day package and I am so glad that we did. I came away with even more respect and appreciation for the sacrifice and service of our past and current service men and women. My 10 year old grandson was with us and was so impressed by our tour guide from Karma tours, Robert. He was so kind and knowledgeable and did an exceptional job of retelling the history of what had taken place. The entire experience was incredibly memorable and moving.

The Pearl Harbor experience is very somber. I was surprised at how it affected me while looking at all those names on the marble wall. We also recommend seeing the submarine & USS Missouri. Seeing the ship & submarine are a great addition to the full history of Pearl Harbor.

Great communication before the day. Driver sent a few texts with reminders of where and when the pick up was. He was prompt and helpful and gave great information about local area and other attractions to check out at some point. The hand out he gave us about our day at Pearl Harbor was very helpful and kept us on schedule so we could see everything. Clift and his Clift Notes made our day at Pearl Harbor unforgettable.

Karma Tours offers an outstanding full-day tour of the four major sites/museums of Pearl Harbor - the USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Missouri Battleship, the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, and the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum & USS Bowfin submarine. The company picks you up at or near your hotel and initially transports you to Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, where you are dropped off to tour the USS Arizona Memorial. You then meet at an agreed upon time and are driven to Ford Island to tour the USS Missouri. After that, it is on to the Aviation Museum and, finally, the Submarine Museum. Our driver/guide Arlaine was outstanding - welcoming, funny, organized, punctual., and knowledgeable. This fabulous tour should be of great interest to anyone who wants to learn about the events of December 7th. 1941, and America’s subsequent entrance into the most devastating war in the history of mankind, while viewing warships and aircraft that helped win the war.

It's very detailed about what happened at Pearl Harbour that day in history...it was sad because so many people lost their lives that Sunday morning.

It was a wonderful day, yet it was a full day! We had the blessing of. Wing able to go see the memorial as it is under renovation and not always available. Your tour guide will not know if you will be able to see it until you get there and the navy lets them know. The submarine was amazing! The Missouri was mind blowing. The history was absolutely a must see. I was amazed to see it all in real life and nothing compares to the experience of being there.
