Mutianyu Great Wall

The Mutianyu Great Wall is considered the most beautiful section in Beijng part of whole China Great Wall. Located in Huairou County 72km northeast of Beijing, it stands opposite of Badaling Great Wall, connected with Juyongguan Pass in the west and Gubeikou Gateway in the east. The whole area is like a garden on a mountain top. There are abundant natural springs which feed a great variety of plants and fruit trees, keeping the air fresh all year long. The scenic beauty is excellent especially in spring and autumn. You will take roundtrip cable car go up and down then hike on the top. Or you can take cable car up and slide way down. Your privte guide and driver will take your back hotel at the end of the tour.

Very good. Highly recommended. Our local guide Jenny was very knowledgeable and helpful. Good communication before the trip. Driver and Jenny showed up in time so no worries. Good lunch included. Could just enjoy the trip.

We were on a 9 hour layover in Beijing and this tour was perfect to see the Great Wall of China, attend a tea ceremony and a quick lunch before heading back for our flight. Our tour guide, Tony, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, professional and helpful. He answered all of our questions (and we had a lot!) and also helped us with bartering for a couple souvenirs. Our driver, Lee, was also very professional and we felt very safe during the drive. I highly recommend Tony, Lee and this tour if you want to see the Great Wall of China and learn about its history.

This was the highlight of our round the world trip. After spending the first day on a group tour rushed and tired, this private tour was amazing. We were picked up on time and at the location we listed and driven in an air conditioned, well maintained van to the great wall. Cynthia was hands down the best tour guide we have experienced- she spoke good english and was happy to give us information on any part of China. Cynthia was great with our three kids- who warmed to her within minutes of being in the car. We enjoyed her company that much we booked another tour with her 2 days later!
The tour was flexible and Cynthia and the driver were happy to stop off at the local village to buy some fresh fruit and umbrellas.
The Mutianyu part of the wall is gorgeous, it has been repaired over the years and is well maintained. There are some good souvenior shops and restaraunts near the ticket office, including a great spot for lunch where we got some tasty, well priced meals.
There is an open chair lift and enclosed cable car to get to the top- try the open chair lift- it has amazing views and is not as packed.
For those wanting a hassle free day trip to the wall book this- and ask for Cynthia!

Fantastic tour with Sonia. Arrived early at our hotel with h a beautiful mini van for us. Driver was excellent and our guide Sonia was a gem Her English was excellent and she gave us a wonderful tour. Excellent tour and a wonderful day. Suggest taking the cable car both ways as we were able to hike up much further on the wall
