Spend several unforgettable hours sailing along Costa Rica's beautiful North Pacific coastline. Halfway through our journey, we will stop and enjoy a guided snorkel tour. Your guide will try to get you an up-close view of the Costa Rican marine life as you enjoy the breathtaking underwater views of this tropical paradise. For those who prefer the overwater view and do not want to snorkel, we'll have kayaks and paddleboards available on the boat. For sunset sails, you will experience an unparalleled light show provided by the sun setting across the waters of Costa Rica.

5.00The whole day was just about perfect. Our driver showed up right on time with a clean, comfortable van for our group. After a couple hours in the car we did a lowkey hike through the park where we saw all kinds of wildlife in addition to volcanic activity. The hike is fairly flat making it accessible for most ages and abilities. After the hike we changed into swimsuits and swam in a gorgeous waterfall before heading to the hot springs. Once we had our fill of water activities we topped it off with a tasty Costa Rican lunch.

5.00Robbie arrived right on time to pick us up for a full day of adventure around the volcano. He was courteous, competent and knowledgeable. The tour was as described and a very enjoyable experience. An easy hike, lots of flora and fauna, the waterfall was very refreshing and the thermal springs a perfect spot to relax. Lunch wrapped up the Park time with a direct drive back to our condo. We had a private tour and felt very safe giving the COVID restrictions. I would recommend this tour and company to anyone wanting a relaxing and enjoyable volcano day in beautiful Costa Rica!

5.00Jose was an amazing for our Hot Springs trip. We stayed in Playa Grade and our trip to Rincon de la Vieja was seamless. Jose treated us to local pantacones from a small, local place on the way and I have to say they were the BEST for our entire stay. Jose went out of his way to accommodate our family. Coordinating our travel with Playa Grande Shuttle and Tours was the most pleasant experience we could have hoped for. We also used them for our shuttle from LIR to Playa Grande and that's how we got to know Jose! Awesome Operation and we'll ONLY use PGS&T in the future. Pura Vida!

Awesome private tour hiking and hot springs combo

5.00We are a group of 4 adults ranging in age from 54 – 65 years old and travelled to Costa Rica in July 2019. We booked the Volcano Rincon de la Vieja National Park - Hike & Hot Springs Combo combo tour through Viator Tour Operators before we arrived in Costa Rica. We were able to pay in Canadian dollars and found the cost cheaper than booking it through the hotel or travel reps at the hotel. Our Costa Rican Tour Operator was Playa Grande Shuttle and Tours. Ariel Arrieta was our private tour guide for the day. He picked up our group at 6:15am in a luxury SUV. We proceeded to a supermarket where we grabbed coffee and he bought us drinks and snacks for the day. Ariel was a walking encyclopedia, he was so knowledgeable and passionate about Costa Rica, its cultural, its politics not to mention its National Parks. The drive to the national Park of about 2 hours flew by fast with all the information he gave us. Once our hike began he was able to tell us about the park in such detail. We learnt about plants, trees, volcanos, and every type of animal we came across and the ones we didn’t. He took photos of our group with my camera and his own phone which he sent to us. It was an amazing 3 hours. He never rushed us and was very thoughtful about our ability to hike. After he took us to restaurant where we were given a fabulous lunch that was all produced in the Rincon area. The next stage of our tour was the hot springs. He took us down to the springs explained how things worked and took photos of us painting ourselves with the mud. He then left us there and said meet me back at the top when ever you want, no rush. On our way back to our Hotel he asked us if we wanted to do anything else, so we asked if could stop at souvenir store. The one we stopped at gave us a lesson in coffee and wood carving as well. When we got back to town he showed us the best restaurants to eat in, (which we took his advice and the Bamboo one was excellent). Ariel and Playa Grande Shuttle and Tours was absolutely the best private tour we have ever received. Ariel was knowledgeable, passionate about the rainforest, attentive, provided us with snacks and drinks throughout the day and really could not do enough for us. I highly recommend you use this company if you are in Costa Rica.

5.00We chose the Rincón de la Vieja National Park expedition and Fernando (James Franco lookalike) accompanied us there. We had a great experience, Fernando was funny and friendly and along the way he talked to us about what we could observe on the road (super interesting information about volcanoes, different climatic influences of the country, etc.). He accompanied us on the hike, adapting to our rhythm and making us notice animals that we would not have seen otherwise. He was also our photographer for the day and captured great shots both during the hike and during the swim under the waterfall. The site was exceptional, beautiful trails, beautiful panoramas and the waterfall at the end of the trail is absolutely worth swimming. Really a great experience, I definitely recommend this outing!

5.00We had great time on our hike & hot springs tour. Ariel picked us up promptly on time and shared his knowledge with us throughout the day. He gave us plenty of time to fully enjoy our day! This tour is great for everyone, including families with children, plus the relaxing mud bath/ hot springs soak is perfect end to this experience.
