What To Expect

Your friendly driver will pick you up from your hotel's lobby then transfer to the Jingdong Stone forest Gorge Scenic Area. The journey will take about 2 hours. Upon arrival, your driver can assist you to purchase the entrance ticket (at your own cost). Then, start your self-guided tour to to explore the beautiful mountain sceneries and terrifying glass-bottomed platform if you are brave enough .Your driver will waiting for you at the parking lot and pick you up at your pointed schedule. Of course, you can add-on a friendly guide service upon booking, if you need someone to take photos and explore the area with with you. Generally, Jingdong Shilinxia is divided naturally into eastern and western part with both offering breathtaking views to all visitors. When you look from afar, the majestic stone forest might give you the feel of solemnity. However, when you get closer, you might accidentally find out that each and every stone is in fact molded in different shapes. On April 30, 2016,the long-expected glass sightseeing platform “Flying Disk/UFO” at Shilinxia (Jingdong Stone forest gorge scenic Area) in Pinggu District, Beijing officially opened to the public.The "flying UFO" extends out over 32 metres, and provides those brave enough with 416 square metres of glass viewing platfrom to confidently stride across.The structure was made from alloys containing titanium, allowing it to be relatively light as well as strong and corrosion-resistant. We were able to choose the pick up time which meant we could get there before the crowds. The driver didn't speak English so we couldn't ask questions along the way.

we were picked up on time from our hotel and as the driver didnt speak English we were phoned by an English speaking person who explained everything, which was very useful
The drive to the George was very quick, only taking an hour and 40 mins, and when we arrived our driver showed us where to get the tickets
It was 78 to get in and then there are 2 paths, one to walk up and one to the cable cars, we chose the cable car to go up, which was 100 each way
This was fun and a long ride in an open air cable car
Once off, there is about a half an hour hike to the top, which was hard but had some lolvey views and stops with shade
When we got to the top we found we had to buy another ticket to the glass bottom platform, which was another 40 take plentry of cash
The platform itself was pretty amazing, quite scary at first, but the views were amazing
We walked round it a good few times before coming off
There was also some Chinese zodiac statues at the top and more lolvey views
We chose to walk down, which was much easier than walking up!
We stopped for lunch half way down
When we got to the bottom we found a water fall and a lake and as we still had an hour left we stopped here. There were also 3 bridges to walk across, which was allot of fun, we then had a look around the bottom, before meeting the driver at the car park at 3pm
Overall we had 5 hours, which was the perfect amount of time as we didnt have to rush or hang around
This was a fantastic tour, we really enjoyed the platform, just remember to take plenty of cash. The driver and service ware excellent, I would highly recommend it
