• Medici family not the focus

  This tour did not focus on the Medici family as the description states. That was disappointing. If you want to experience and know more on the Medici family go to the Medici Palace museum and/or the Medici Family museum. Manuel was attentive and a kind guide. I wear hearing aids and he checked in with me a few times to be sure I could hear him.

  Our guide was very professional and has been giving tours at the Vatican for about 20 years. She was very knowledgeable, and it was also nice to be able to skip pass the long waiting lines!

  I have read some about the Medici and their role in Florence, so I knew the basic history. I liked the way our guide made the stories come alive. She put a little humour into her stories, and role playing, so it gave a sense to how things might have come about. The sound system really needs to be updated. Our guide talked while walking. I missed 30% of what was said while walking and my friend missed 70%, because of the street noise level. For seniors like us, headsets should be an option. This is my second time to Florence within one year. All the tours are based on first timers. I would like to be able to take a more in-depth tour based on the fact that I know and have grasped the basics.
