Peter’s tour around Salamanca and Battery Point was a great way to understand the history of the area, he is extremely knowledgeable about Hobart and very passionate about sharing it, with dozens of old photographs to hand to help give historical context to his stories. He also have great tips for the best spots for photos asking the way, and a restaurant list for our stay. Considering we were the only 2 on the tour we felt very privileged at the personal service !

A group of 6 (4 from Melbourne and 2 visiting from the UK) we did the walking tour with Peter mid-week in winter and thoroughly enjoyed it. He is very knowledgable about Hobart and its history and imparts his knowledge in an engaging manner, with clarity and good humour. His historical photographs add to the information being imparted. The tour moved along at a good pace without being rushed and included recommendations of good places for coffee/baked goods/scallop pies/restaurants/whisky bars - all of which we put to good use later. Highly recommend Peter as a guide.

The tour was great to point out the finer details of Salamanca’s history still hidden in plain site today. The guide was fun and kept the tour interesting and interactive.

Wonderful tour and history of Salamanca and surrounding area. Our guide had many anecdotal stories as well as historical ones concerning our sites. He was thoroughly enjoyable and the tour seemed to fly by.
