What To Expect

1

Somerset House

The tour ends at Somerset House, to see the site that was used as Pentonville Prison in the 2009 film. While the grand Neo-Classical façade of the building couldn’t be more different to the real-life prison, your guide will bring scenes from the film to life with tales of the baddie who was held there – Lord Blackwood. When your Sherlock Holmes tour of London is over, finish your tour here overlooking the River Thames - the artery that runs through the city of Sherlock Holmes.

2

Piccadilly Circus

Meet your guide at Piccadilly Circus in central London, and then set off on your walking tour, hearing about Sherlock Holmes – the fictional sleuth from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s late 19th-century stories. The escapades of the deerstalker-clad detective were so popular that film adaptations followed the books, and filming sites are now scattered around the capital. See the place where the eccentric Sherlock Holmes first met Dr Watson – his loyal friend and adviser – and hear trivia about the 1979 thriller

Jonathon, our guide was excellent. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject was evident and his delivery and interaction with the group was outstanding. I would thoroughly recommend the walk for both enthusiasts of Sherlock Holmes and new followers alike.

Fiona was a gem! A geek like us, she entertained us and told us a lot about everything Sherlock (and also a lot of other geek topics, it was great talking with her about Harry Potter!). She had an extensive knowledge about Sherlock Holmes and London, I would do it all again, 100% guaranteed you will have a great time!

First mention to our guide Owen who was brilliant!! Very engaging, funny, knowledgeable and informative. He took us to locations in London we would never have known were there or would ever see on a normal trip around London, real hidden gems. Owen's knowledge did not only cover Sherlock Holmes but numerous other topics and film related bits of information. Loved it and would highly recommend.
