Now they are back! The samurai and ninja museum brings back the history and helps you to have a glimpse of these heroes’ glorious lives. What is more, you can have a hands on experience including wearing a real samurai armor, taking a katana lesson, doing a shuriken (ninja star) throw and using a ninja fukiya all in one place, all included in the tour.

This is a solid museum to visit if you want to learn about the history of samurais. It’s not huge and will only take about 1-1 1/2 hours but it’s informative and the tour guides are engaging.

Jasmine was a great tour guide. She knew a lot of information about the castle and palace. Tour was the right length and very interesting.

Very informative and interactive. Great tour. Got to try on samari helmet. Play with swords and ninja stars.

The museum staff were friendly and did a good job educating the group we were with on the details of samurai and ninja life. I was expecting more of an actual museum with more artifacts than just swords and armor. Still a solid experience and very educational.

It was an enjoyable experience. History and fun, and in addition we got to dress up like Samurai. I would recommend for first timers in Kyoto to visit and experience this.
