What To Expect
Schloss Mirabell & Mirabellgarten
Short visit to the Mirabell Gardens, either before or after the tour. Jump up and down the Do-Re-Mi steps and see the famous Pegasus fountain, where Maria and the Von Trapp kids danced around. Also, don’t miss the hedge maze tunnel on your right when walking towards the fortress for more breathtaking views of the city of Salzburg.
Schloss Leopoldskron
Photo stop at Schloss Leopoldskron. Enjoy from across the lake the beautiful view of the palace and the fortress as picture-perfect backdrop. Although the interior shootings were done in the studios, Hollywood used the beautiful Rococo Palace terrace as the perfect setting for Maria and the Baron dancing during the ball scene. The lake is also famous for the boat scene, where Maria and the children fell off the boat.

5.00We had an amazing time visiting all the sights of Sound of Music. Our tour guide, April, really made everything come alive! She was fantastic. As well as driver Sammy Davis Junior Jr. We laughed, we sang, we saw. After the bus tour, we made our way over to Edelweiss cooking. Our time there was enjoyable as well. The strudel making was fun and yummy! The cookies were delicious. It was great meeting folks from around the globe. If you are looking for a fun filled day, I would highly recommend this. You will not be disappointed.

5.00The Sound of Music Tour was everything we hoped it would be. Singing the songs from the movie while seeing the filming sites and hearing behind the scenes info about filming made for an enjoyable day. The Edelweiss Cooking class was lots of fun. We made apple strudel as planned but also made a Salzburg nockerl.

5.00Best tour guides and bus driver ever ! Always feeling safe with this dynamic duo is a must on any tour. Ferdinand, the bus driver, did not disappoint ! Negotiating turns and hilltops with ease, there were never anxious moments. Thank you Ferdinand! As for the tour host, Jose should be awarded an Academy Award! " Let's start at the very beginning..." as the song goes, this man gives more information, humor, kindness and joy than any guide I've ever experienced in a bus tour. He is not content to sit in the front and speak into the microphone. He engages his group, entertains and makes them all feel welcomed and special. Rare qualities, indeed. Thank you, Jose. 5.00We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. From singing the songs as we drove around Salzburg and into the Mountains, touring the filming spots our guide and driver we’re fabulous. The cooking class in the afternoon was its own special highlight for our family. Plenty to eat from the prepared beef goulash to the strudel we prepared ourselves guided by Chef Analena.
