The National WWII Museum
Head inside The National WWII Museum with your general admission ticket and start exploring the captivating exhibition space at leisure. The Museum tells the story of the American Experience in the war that changed the world—why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today—so that all generations will understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn. Guaranteed to move and educate, The National WWII Museum features interactive exhibits, soaring aircraft, personal histories, and more. The heart of the Museum experience, Campaigns of Courage: European and Pacific Theaters brings visitors inside the story of how the war was won. Two immersive exhibitions—Road to Berlin: European Theater Galleries and Road to Tokyo: Pacific Theater Galleries—feature environmental exhibits that guide visitors chronologically through the narrative of each theater of combat, using a sophisticated mix of set design, narrated and environmental videos, period newsreels, interactive oral-history kiosks, personal and digital artifacts, and dynamic displays for a uniquely evocative experience. How long you spend inside the museum is up to you! If you are hungry or simply want a break from exploring the exhibits, visit the on-site American Sector Restaurant + Bar and take a step back in time in BB’s Stage Door Canteen, a 1940s-style entertainment venue that showcases the music and performers of the war years. Food and drinks are at your own expense.

A beautiful and very well done museum. I really enjoyed the Pacific theater section and the European campaign. It’s very big! If you want to see everything, plan for 2 days. You can definitely hit the highlights in one though.

It’s an extremely important and informative place that everyone should visit. One of the best things to see in New Orleans.

Wonderful videos and artifacts from the war. We really enjoyed it until I asked about the Tuskegee Airman. They were not showcased anywhere in this vast museum. The Six Triple 8 had a corner along the walkway to the ticket counter. Tuskegee items were front and center for sale in the gift shop. As a woman of color, I was very disappointed that in a museum of 7 buildings, there was no real mention of the Tuskegee Airman and very little mention of th Six triple 8

A superb museum that curates World War 2 from the personal persoective of participants in different theatres of the war. We spent the entire day there and could have spent longer if time had permitted. We enjoyed lunch in the American Sector restaurant on site, staff really friendly and food very good value. Overall, a wonderful experience.

It was a very good, educational and emotional trip through the museum. We learned a lot, and enjoyed the museum and gift shop. I would recommend allowing plenty of time to tour, because we had to rush with only 2 hours to visit before closing.

The museum was amazing! It definitely warrants a second or 3rd trip. So much to see. We were there about 6 hrs and still probably only saw about half.
