People from all over the world come to Florence to see him — David. This iconic statue, sculpted by Michelangelo, is widely regarded as one of the most celebrated works of art in history. Towering at over five meters tall, David represents the pinnacle of Renaissance sculpture, capturing both the idealized beauty of the human form and the intense psychological tension of the biblical hero before battle. More than just a statue, David has become a universal symbol of strength, youthful courage, and the enduring power of human creativity.
As you walk through the halls of the museum, you’ll also discover the history behind Michelangelo’s Slaves — unfinished sculptures originally intended to adorn the tomb of Pope Julius II. In addition, take time to admire masterpieces by Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, Giambologna, and explore the fascinating Museum of Musical Instruments!

Paid for entry and an audio guide and we received a ticket from the tour group and once we arrived at the destination we were told the tour company should have given us the audio and to ring the company. Once we rang them, their phone was off and when requesting for a partial refund they declined it

Make sure you use the address provided and don’t look up the name of the place. Google maps will take you to the wrong location with the name. Tickets were super easy to pick up and the staff was super helpful. We got there like they suggested and got right in.
