We were never able to make it to the experience due to issues interpreting the listing address. We left an hour before the meet time but we’re unable to make it in time and we’re ultimately taken to the wrong location by our uber driver since the address on the listing did not pull up correctly. Give yourself plenty of time to make sure you know how you’re getting to the location, that you have it correct, and alternative modes of travel set in place.

Ask for precise directions. The building apparently has no name. I was told it’s near the post office. I never found the building. Waste of money for me.

If you are looking for a casual, guided instruction based class to learn more about chopsticks and the art of making your own, do NOT book this!!! We were a bit late to our start time, but it didn’t even matter since there is no formal class time chunks, just a mess of people flowing in and out of a room way too small for the number of people they tried to fit in. There was hardly any instruction, just a few people bouncing around to different tables giving advice as if we had any base knowledge of what we were doing to start with. Way too chaotic, we didn’t learn anything, and we walked away with very poorly made chopsticks I will certainly not be actually using. I will add too that even though you are already paying for this class, all of the good wood blocks are extra money as well as adding any engraving. Tourist trap at best!

Terrible experience. No organisation or structure at all. Lead by expats who don’t know what they are doing. Although we had a time slot when we arrived it was clear the slot didn’t matter as there were already people at tables at different stages of their chopstick making progress. The person who chose to lead our table was on his phone and actually ignored the 7 year old when she was asking him questions as he was texting. We jokingly said “I know you’re very busy but could you help us here?” And he didn’t even pick up on our sarcasm. Another two leaders were talking about how they feel they need more than one try at making a chopstick before they can teach others. There was only one person who seemed like he knew what he was doing.

It was a great experience with my husband, but the instructors were…subpar. At least in our experience. They were helping, but then got caught up in conversation amongst themselves. Then the gal who was helping my husband and I, just left. So we were left with little instruction. There was one instructor who was helping 9 of us while the rest either left or were in conversation with each other. In the end, my husband and I made our chopsticks and left. So we got what we paid for, but I feel like we could have done this at home for a much cheaper price.
