Absolutely amazing experience — real, intimate, and nothing touristy about it. Mao was wonderful! Since no one is allowed to speak during the training, she set up a WhatsApp group where we could ask her questions. She answered everything, which made it easy to follow and made the whole experience even more special. One of the absolute highlights of our Tokyo trip — I recommend it 100%!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan and a must do! Mao, our guide, was amazing and super knowledgable of the sport and the sumo stable. The experience is quite authentic as it is a real training session. The wrestlers and the master are focused on the their practice, and you get to experience first hand their skills, effort, frustrations, and successes. Worth every penny and the early morning!!!

Great experience! We were able to attend two hours of full training with a dozen fighters. Mao our guide was adorable and his explanations very clear. Too bad that other groups are not so respectful of the instructions. Thank you Mao!

Went with my son during a holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed the session: well organised, perfect duration (an hour in the stable). Our MC was Mao who introduced the sumo world to us and answered all our questions through a Group WhatsApp chat so that we could still exchange and understand while the westlers were fighting! Thank you Mao. I can only recommend this activity if you have never seen any sumo before!

Mao was a great guide. The practice was exciting to watch. Short of going to a tournament you experience how tough the wrestlers have to work to achieve success. Mao explain the whole experience quietly in WhatsApp. Highly recommend

I took my nephews to Tokyo this past week. Let me tell you..they are extremely playful and full of energy. But when Mao indicated to everyone that you have to be very quiet, they STAYED that way until it was over! It was sooo much fun and I really enjoyed it!

Amazing Sumo Experience with Mao! Watching the sumo training was absolutely fascinating. Mao was an incredible guide — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the sport. She explained everything clearly and made the whole experience easy to understand, even for beginners. Seeing the wrestlers train up close was powerful and unforgettable. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Japan — it’s truly unique and authentic!

We enjoyed watching the sumo wrestlers training, it was very interesting and helped us understand more about the hard work they do. We also enjoyed the picture we had at the end with the group. Our tour guy, Mao, was very kind and responsive, we liked that she created a whats app group where we could ask questions about the wrestlers while watching the training, since we needed to be silent. However there are some points that could improve, like maybe giving more information from the beginning on a paper, about their routine, name of their attire, techniques, what are the meaning of their different hairstyles, how this tradition started along with the samurais, and religious meaning to it, among some other points. If this information is given from the beginning , I think it will complement more the questions that people could make in the whats app group during the training. But definitely grateful that we got to experience watching their training, which was close to the sumo arena where we got more information about them.
