Gallerie Degli Uffizi
One of the world’s oldest art museums, the Uffizi was built by architect Giorgio Vasari in the 16th century to house government offices. It was only later that the building was used to showcase art collected by Florence’s ruling Medici family, and not until 1769 that it was turned into a public museum. The repository of more 1,500 works dating from Greek times to the 18th century, the core of the Uffizi is its unmissable collection of Renaissance art. Your tour concentrates on these, as your guide leads you around the highlights of the Renaissance rooms, home to great works by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and others. Enter the spectacular Botticelli Room and wonder at his The Birth of Venus and Primavera as your guide explains their composition and meaning, and the nature of Botticelli’s genius. Then, continue to see masterpieces such as da Vinci’s breathtaking Annunciation, Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo and works by Rafael.

Educational and entertaining tour of the “greatest hits” of the Uffizi Gallery. Angelo was knowledgeable and funny, and we truly enjoyed his insights into the great works of art. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Interesting things to see but our guide was difficult to understand( times where we had no idea what he was talking about)and boring- he seemed to be in a hurry( at the end, he hurriedly got the audio pieces and left)Never asked our names, didnt offer his name. This was our 6th tour on this trip- was most disappointed. Others were all 5 star except the tour guide who didnt show up.. We got more information from reading the placards than listening to him. I try to be honest with these reviews- as I appreciate getting information to help me make choices. So, should you book it? Definitely not with this guide, maybe another guide, its hard to tell

This was not a good experience for our group of 7. We purchased the skip the line & guided tour tickets. In hindsight, I would purchase the skip the line & self tour tickets. First, there was no indication in the tour description of the amount of stairs there would. The party included several older women who would have greatly benefited from a working elevator. Some things can’t be helped, but notice on the part of Viator would have been appreciated. Second, the tour guide was difficult to understand, and in our opinion the tour provided too much detail about each piece of art for way too long. He was very nice and incredibly knowledgeable, but it was too in depth. He couldn’t read his audience, was not engaging with our group and overall was a disappointing addition to our trip when we’ve had excellent guides elsewhere. Third, the tour went over the time stated. Lastly, the ear piece was extremely uncomfortable. This tour changed my mind about needed a guided tour.
