A chance to discover the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park and see the landscape and scenery that inspired James Herriot.
You'll visit the locations used in the current series of All Creatures Great and Small such as the Village of Grassington, which is currently being used as Darrowby in the series. You'll drive through villages and over passes admiring the views and taking in that in stunning landscape. You'll stop at Bolton Castle where Herriot proposed to his wife and was a favourite location of the author.

Grassington
Explore the charming village of Grassington, filled with cobbled streets, local shops and pubs. The village is used as Darrowby in the filming of All Creatures Great & Small.
Wensleydale Creamery
Visit the famous Wensleydale Creamery in the market town of Hawes. Taste their award winning cheese and a personal favourite of TV character Wallace & Gromit.

5.00Fantastic day outside of York! We enjoyed listening to history and current information about the Yorkshire Dales. We booked this tour to see the country side for us the ‘All creatures great and small’ was added information. BARRY, what a fantastic guide and driver! Shared continuous information both current and historically. He was very welcoming which made this tour very enjoyable! We would never have seen the things we did or understand what happened in each area, the little pieces of history and landmarks he pointed out was amazing! I loved seeing the farms and would love to been able to take some more photos of the English cattle and sheep and a visit to the farmers ice cream shop would have been fitting to a perfect day! Would happily do this tour again in Summer!
A great day out in a great location, with great company AND great value for money too! What more could you ask for...!?

5.00We had a great day out in the Yorkshire Dales today. My fiancé is a huge fan of the series All Creatures Great and Small, which was filmed in different locations im the Dales and we both love being in the great oudoors and especially out in the countryside. Barry was our driver and tour guide, and what a lovely, down to earth and interesting man, he was very friendly and knowledgeable and we learnt a lot of interesting and fun information and stories from him, he was an excellent host. Plenty of stops for photos, toilet breaks and a stop for lunch at Wensleydale Creamery. It was a great day, spent in a really great environment and with great company and the cherry on top - really great value for money. Thanks again Barry and Mountain Goat Tours. We look forward to booking more tours with you again in the near future in all the different areas you do tours in and will be recommending you to everyone we know. Keep up the good work!

5.00Barry was a very knowledgeable, kind, accommodating, and articulate guide, as well as an excellent driver. The day-long tour of the Yorkshire Dales was beautiful and more broadly enjoyable than a mere tour of filming locales would have been — I was very pleasantly surprised by the thoroughness of the tour.

5.00It was not only an All Creatures tour, but also a general tour of the Dales. We learned about the history, the agriculture, the flora and fauna, and the people of the Dales. Got to stop and walk around a village where the outside of the Drovers was located. The stop at the Wensleydale creamery was lovely and we had a delicious lunch there. Wonderful driver/tour guide.

5.00Fabulous way to see the Dales and learn about the people and history. Ben A was so knowledgeable and friendly. Comfortable bus. Great itinerary. Lunch at the Wensleydale Creamery allowed lots of different options. Visited a couple of beautiful churches too. Worth noting that in Nov Bolton Castle is closed so unable to go inside. Even in the rain the countryside is stunning and Aysgarth Falls spectacular. Thoroughly recommend the trip.

5.00Our day in the Yorkshire Dales hosted by our driver and guide, John, was an excellent experience. He has a tremendous knowledge of Yorkshire history as well as the current features that make it an interesting tourist journey. We are fans of the All Creatures James Herriot series, but the tour encompassed much more than this. Highly recommended.
