I joined The Bloody Tour of York on the spookiest night of all – Friday the 13th – and it was absolutely brilliant! Our guide, Mad Alice, was phenomenal. She brought the dark history of York to life with a perfect mix of theatrical flair, sharp wit, and chilling storytelling. From tales of plagues and executions to ghostly legends, every stop on the tour kept us captivated. The route was well-paced, covering some of York’s most iconic (and haunted!) spots. Despite the eerie content, there was plenty of humour and historical insight, which made it entertaining and informative in equal measure. Mad Alice’s charisma and passion made this tour more than just a walk—it felt like a mini immersive theatre experience. If you’re in York and even remotely curious about its sinister past, this tour is a must. And if you’re lucky enough to go on Friday the 13th... be prepared for an extra dose of atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The lady who delivers this is, quite frankly, brilliant! First-class stories, first-class delivery, sprinkled with humour and some wonderful insights. This tour was as good as any i've been on anywhere in Europe - she had the audience in the palm of her hand!
