Vatican Museums
Walk through the Vatican Museums, a splendid collection of the Popes, containing classic sculptures and masterpieces from all time periods. Vatican -It’s unique opportunity to admire works by Raphael, Giotto and Caravaggio by walking trough the Pio Clement Museum, the Gallery of the Candelabras, the Gallery of the Geographical Maps, the Gallery of the Tapestries (Renaissance art), the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel.
Sistine Chapel
Visit to the Sistine Chapel is a deeply immersive and awe-inspiring experience, filled with rich history, breathtaking art, and profound reverence. Nestled within the Vatican Museums in Vatican City, the chapel itself is famous for its ceiling, masterfully painted by Michelangelo. As you step into the dimly lit, hallowed space, your eyes are immediately drawn upwards to the sweeping frescoes that depict stories from the Book of Genesis, including the iconic “Creation of Adam,” where God reaches out to touch Adam’s finger in a moment of divine connection. The walls of the Sistine Chapel are equally adorned with powerful frescoes by other Renaissance masters like Botticelli, Perugino, and Ghirlandaio, which portray scenes from the lives of Moses and Jesus. At the front of the chapel, Michelangelo’s dramatic “Last Judgment” covers the entire altar wall, illustrating the final fate of souls with an intensity that both fascinates and humbles viewers.

Touring these museums on your own gives you more freedom to dwell a bit on the works you find most interesting, but the audio guide definitely helps you better understand what you are seeing. I highly recommend it.

Yeah, sure. You have to take skip-the-line tickets or the wait is endless. The museum exhibits unique pieces.

Once you start the tour there’s only one way round & no way of getting out. We walked solidly for 2 1/2 hours without any means of getting a drink. We love museums but there are only so many tombs & artefacts one can view before becoming bored. The tour would have been more enjoyable had it not been so long. I noticed most people were listening to their audio during the first couple of rooms then put them aside & just walked with the flow of the people

The directions for the meeting point were very clear. The meeting point is a nice little cafe where you can grab a drink and pastry beforehand. The guides were there to give us our tickets, then we made our way to the museum on our own. We were under the impression that this was a guided tour, but we were happy to be able to explore on our own. Once at the museum, we received audio guide radios. It was great being able to skip the line and walk right in. We’d definitely recommend this tour if you want to see the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel!

The ticket collection point is about 10 mins away from the entrance. Don’t panic when you arrive the guide with the tickets will turn up on time. The Vatican museum is fantastic the scale of the art collection and proximity to artefacts is second to none.

The instructions for getting to the meeting place were straightforward and the person who explained how to get into the Vatican was friendly, very clear, and knowledgeable. Go early so you don’t get delayed getting there as there were big crowds in the streets. Highly recommend!
