I did this tour with my mother, though we booked via Viator (where I left a very similar review, though with the wrong tour guide name. Sorry...). Our tour guide was Sam and he was incredibly knowledgeable and funny. Though we were a smallish group (15ish people), it was great to have the ear pieces and radios to listen to Sam continuously, given that Rome is always a busy city. This also allowed the group to spread out a little to take photos from different angles. The day I took this tour, the annual Rome half-marathon was happening, but Sam dealt with that obstacle with good humour! Sam's commentary was very insightful. From historical facts, global context, and cultural significance, all the way to personal anecdotes and insider tips for Rome, we were well guided. The stops were well chosen and not too far apart. Starting at the Spanish Steps (though actually they're the French steps on the Spanish Piazza!), followed by Trevi Fountain (with a complementary gelato and inbuilt toilet stop), Pantheon, and Piazza Navona, we had lots of minor sights in-between, including the residence of the Italian Prime Minister and the former residence of beloved artist Bernini. A story about Bernini and his archrival Borromini was a highlight for me personally. This tour is walking-only and there are only as many chances to sit-down as a busy major city may provide.

Me and my mum did this tour on Sunday, the day after we arrived. Fabio guided us expertly through the city, showing us all the prime spots and sharing incredibly in-depth knowledge about the history, architecture, and provenance of everything. The Rome Half-Marathon was on that same day and sometimes we had to wait a while to cross the running track, but that time was well used for more interesting tidbits about less prominent things to be seen in Rome, such as the personal vendetta of artist Bernini and his rival Borromini. Having ear-pieces with a radio was very practical. Rome is a busy city at the best of times, not to mention Sundays. The radios enabled us to spread out a little, to approach things or look from a different angle for photos, etc, while still listening to Fabio. The stop in Trevi Bar for a Gelato or coffee - and a bathroom break - was also a very good idea. In general, I can recommend this tour for length and locations, as well as Fabio as a guide in particular due to his knowledgeable and humorous commentary.

Good Value… We experienced ‘local flavor’ Sam our guide provided excellent commentary and insight into the many places we saw. At the end of the tour Sam walked us to find a taxi back to our hotel. Very kind gesture on his part

The tour was good, but I would’ve preferred to learn more actual facts, rather than opinions! We heard quite a bit negative opinions from the tour guide

Easy to understand, gives good advice on where to eat in Rome, very detailed, kept us on time. No time to take pictures at Spanish steps after joining meeting point. Tour description should suggest taking photos there prior to tour start. Earlier you get there the less people
