Overall, it was a decent experience. The sandwiches and scones were particularly nice, the cakes I would’ve preferred something a little bit more traditional, but to each their own. What is annoying, is that if you want to drink something apart from tea, say one nice glass of champagne, that is not an option. You either have to order a full bottle of wine, champagne is not available by the bottle, only as a free flow option of another HK$1000 plus per person. As the cruise is only about 90 minutes long, that is not really worth it . Funnily enough on the cruise we took there was a bunch of rather lively Australian ladies that went for exactly that option and truth be told got a little bit too rambunctious for something like afternoon tea. The band did not help, they went full on disco and 1980s, so once again it wasn’t really something we were expecting or reflecting the peninsula hotel.

The entire experience was great. The service, setup, food and music we are excellent. Would recommend to anyone. All the seats were good views of the water. You also can go out to the front and back of boat for more photos. I didn’t because the music was too good to miss. People were dancing and having a great time.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The afternoon tea is lovely and staff are excellent. I recommend booking as a group of 4 so you are guaranteed a couch seat and hopefully by the window. Unfortunately as a couple we were at a table in the middle section but it did not detract too much from the enjoyment. There is a band which is a nice addition but we found the second set quite loud so spent much of the return journey on the deck outside. I personally would have preferred a string quartet. Peninsula Star Ferry is a great thing to do especially for Hong Kong residents with visitors in town or if you are looking to do something special but different.

This info isn't disclosed before your non-refundable booking is confirmed. "We do not guarantee the availability of window seats, as seat arrangements are subject to availability. Please note that for parties of two, they may be assigned non-window seats in the middle. If the four- seaters are not fully occupied, we will allocate the four-seaters based on the order of the orders received." At $120 USD per head, everyone should be seated near a window.
