This half-day tour from Rome will stimulate your senses and rejuvenate your spirit. Frascati is an easy 25 minute train ride from Rome and is part of the Castelli Romani or ‘Roman Castles. Things move at a slower pace in Frascati. Nowhere is this fact better represented than in the the way food is produced and prepared. Porchetta is cooked in a wood burning oven for over 8 hours. The olive oil is extra virgin and cold pressed. The pasta is all hand-made. Our wine is still made with ancient techniques first used by the Romans. Here, the local baker, winemaker, tavern owner, and restaurant owner all value organic and locally sourced products. Not because its trendy, but because it’s tradition!

Lunch begins with local cheeses, vegetables & different salumi and is followed by fresh homemade pasta with seasonal sauces. The meal is also served with more local wine.

What To Expect

Our drivers will bring you to one of the oldest family-run wineries in Frascati. Tour our beautiful artisanal Frascati Vineyard and 16th century Farmhouse and Winery accompanied by the winemaker. Learn about how the artisanal winemaking tradition has been kept alive by a devotion to traditional winemaking techniques, incorporated into the production of our modern DOCG wines. Explore a deep wine cave which dates back to the times of Ancient Rome. Taste our three wines; Frascati Superiore DOCG, Red Vagnolo IGT and Sweet Cannellino DOCG. Each wine is described in detail by our licensed sommelier and is accompanied by freshly baked goods picked up from the bakery in the center of Frascati during the tour of town. You will also enjoy our delicious extra virgin olive oil. Sit and relax while sipping your wine in a beautiful setting with amazing views of the Roman countryside.

(Saturday schedule varies, please check with provider for correct train information) The train for Frascati leaves from Rome Termini at 9:49 AM and costs just 2.10 euro. Learn about the history of Frascati while tasting local products like slow-roasted pork and Frascati jug wine. Meet local artisans and shop owners who are eager to share their stories. Paula and Giovanna were amazing guides! The tour was great and the wineyard was very beautiful! We learned a lot and the wines and food were great! Frascati was picturesque and the view over Rome amazing. They also make it possible for people in weelchair.

This tour was a lot of fun and we drank a lot of wine. The tour guide was very friendly and met us at the train station in Frascati as promised. The tour of the winery was very informative and the wine tasting (2 whites and 1 red) was yummy. The pork sandwiches at the bakery were delicious and the lunch with wine at the restaurant was fantastic. It was a great way to spend a day and see something outside of Rome.

It was not what I had anticipated—a small sandwich and house wine served in plastic cups, out in the middle of the street, while being bitten by insects at the winery. As we walked through the vines, people were falling and slipping, and tasting wine in a cave felt chaotic. I was four minutes late, and they didn’t even wait for me; they had to return and didn't have enough vehicles to accommodate the large group. The only positive aspect I can mention is that the tour guide, when we returned to town, was excellent and very pleasant. The food at the restaurant was just okay; I received six rigatoni noodles with a large amount of small stewed tomatoes.
