Walk through the Gladiators Gate and right onto the Colosseum, where gladiators fought in ancient times and catch a glimpse of the beautiful Roman amphitheater surrounding you, where 60,000 screaming spectators would watch champions fight their opponents to the death. From here, you can even see the names of Roman nobles carved into some of the seats right atop the Arena Floor. Get your cameras ready, this view makes for the perfect picture.

Information about the meeting place was wrong. We look for Discover Rome Tours. There was no sign that said that. Instead, it said something else. We almost missed our tour as a result. Rest of tour was ok, though it was a little difficult at times to understand the guide. Would not recommend until they fix meeting point confusion.

Bring in your own water. All the machines to purchase water were broken. Make sure you purchase tickets to go to the underground. It was well worth it!

The colosseum underground tour is a tour you have to do to understand the place Colosseum. Otherwise you are looking at a ruïne and think “ok, nice….but this is just a ruïne”. It is a very nice and interesting tour. Nothing difficult, but very useful to look at the construction later on….Highly recommanded….

Our guide Sandro was excellent, very passionate and informative, it was difficult in 34 degrees but he did a great job. Guided tour was about 1 hr, then you wander around the colosseum without the guide and the ticket permits entry into roman forum and palatine Hill (without guide)
