Marcello V (you can call him the Fifth) was a fantastic guide to the Colosseum for our family. His passion for and depth of knowledge of Roman history, and particularly that of the Colosseum and the incredible and awful events it held, were obvious. His guidance was terrifically entertaining and well as genuinely edifying. We particularly appreciated his attentiveness and solicitousness to the elderly members of our family who have mobility issues. His sensitive and intelligent management of their visit allowed them to see so much of the building without being overly taxed. Could not recommend him more highly. Hij bood ook een onverwachte kans om een beetje Nederlands te spreken. Dank U wel, Ceel. Ave Marcelle! È stato un vero piacere, Marcello!

A lot of walking and very steep stairs. But an incredible experience. We had a very knowledgeable guide who shared both history and architecture. He explained daily life during the time the coliseum was built and its usage. Fascinating. Loved the tour and the guide.

The Colosseum itself is amazing, but this tour was disappointing. It took ages to get inside, even though I thought a tour meant skipping a lot of the queues - I was wrong. The guide was a nice guy but we felt we didn't learn as much as we thought we would and we spent more time waiting in lines than actually exploring. I definitely would not book again or recommend - you're better off booking a tour that includes queue jump or just walk around yourself off your own accord.

Wow! So much good information and history. We were tempted to see the Colloseum without a tour guide. So glad we changed our minds.

Wonderful experience! Andrei was very knowledgeable and full of interesting information. His commentary made our experience at the Colosseum much more memorable and entertaining that just walking around by ourselves and reading plaques. Highly recommend!

Andrei was very informative, he kept the pace to a manageable speed and didn’t leave me behind. He was very polite and by far the best tour guide we have experienced to date
