Forget the long lines and the big groups following a flag! I guide personally my tours and I won't let you in the hands of anybody else but me. I will book the skip the line passage to enter the Colosseum with no wait. Along with a generous and articulated explanation of Rome's history, we will use Virtual Reality glasses to see the splendor of the ancient roman buildings like the Colosseum, and the temples of the Roman Forum. I have a master degree in history, the tour guide license and i like to talk, so, get ready, as I will give you plenty of stories and facts about my city!

5.00We booked a personalised tour for our family of 5 for our first visit to Rome. While the rest of my family are intrigued by ancient Roman history, I am (generally speaking) more interested in more modern day activities (musical theatre etc). That all changed on our tour with Dario. He's commentary on our full day tour of the Rome highlights was extremely engaging. His personalised and non scripted delivery of history was highly knowledgeable and relative to locals perspective and in no way like the general knowledge recital from tour guides I have had in the past. I could not recommend Dario highly enough. He has been the highlight of our European holiday. You haven't really seen Rome unless you've seen it with Dario

5.00Dear Sir / Madam: We wanted to thank you for the wonderful experience we had during our VIP Colosseum Tour on Friday, September 15. Our tour Guide, Mr. Dario Andreucci, is a national treasure. Not only did Mr. Anderucci know all the names and dates to give context to the Roman antiquities we were exploring; But his passion for “dispelling the myths” of ancient Rome made for a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience. Dario also helped us secure tickets for an unscheduled stop using his own cell phone and funds. Because I am disabled, he personally escorted me and my wife through Colosseum shortcuts to a safe taxi-stand. Dario’s professionalism, job-knowledge, and service-first ethic are a credit to your organization. We have already recommended Viator to several friends and family members. 5.00We were really looking forward to the virtual reality tour of the Colosseum in Rome. Our guide Dario met more than all expectations. It was a fantasic experience for our three teenagers and ourselves. Dario is very passionate and clearly knows what he is talking about. Worth repeating!

5.00To recommend this is an understatement. Dario is not only informative and very knowledgeable, but thought provoking. He clearly has a passion for his intimate experience he gives you. You can cut through the b.s. topical questions and really drill down into actual roman life during this time in this place. Not some mindless "look there" , "now look here", guide. My fiance and I were very privileged to be on a private tour, due to some extenuating circumstances, but even without private tour he limits the size of groups (10, I believe) to make a truly focused, personal experience. I would say the VR sets it above any other experience, but that would be discounting Dario's knowledge, personality, and hospitality. Aren't enough stars to recommend!

5.00Having been to Rome before, I knew how important it is to have an excellent guide to bring the history of this amazing city to life. Dario did that for us and more. We actually went on three tours with Dario: the Vatican, Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere tour, and the Colosseum/Roman Forum. Dario has been a guide for over 10 years, and his experience shows. He is incredibly knowledgeable in multiple facets regarding Rome's history. In fact, the more we asked questions, the more he was able to learn our area of interest, and he would tailor the tour to match our areas of curiosity. But just having a strong knowledge-base is not where his talents end. Dario was able to masterfully avoid long lines at the Vatican and Colosseum. He was also able to bring us to the areas at those locations that were fascinating but not flooded with large tour groups. During our stay in Rome, Dario had the added challenge of dealing with the 90+ degree heat. He knew exactly how to handle this situation by always bringing us to shade and places to refill water. As an additional challenge, we were with my father and husband who both have back issues. Dario was exceptionally considerate of their needs and took elevators or easier paths wherever possible. On top of it all, he is a lovely person who is just easy to be with. He has a calm and poised demeanor, making it a pleasure to be with him through the day. One last compliment I want to pay Dario is that he is incredibly responsive to questions leading up to the tour date. I booked Dario as our guide a year in advance, and over the course of the year, I had various questions about preparations or recommendations. Dario always got back to me quickly and with helpful responses. I knew we were in good hands before we even got to Rome. Dario brought Rome to life for my family. Thank you, Dario!

5.00My husband and I booked Dario at the recommendation of some family friends. We loved Dario and the tour he gave us and would highly recommend him to all our friends and family. I would also like to mention, we contacted Dario about booking and he went out of his way to give us recommendations and tips for planning our Italian honeymoon, which we were so grateful for. We hope our paths will cross again!

5.00From our initial contact I knew Dario was one of a kind! His patience he had with me prior to our tour regarding of all of my questions was remarkable! Dario's knowledge was outstanding. Even our teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed our tours with Dario. Don't look at any of the big companies, you will be more than happy with Dario and his service! 5.00The day before we arrived in Rome we spoke to a couple who did the private tour of the Vatican with Dario and they said he was fantastic and to definitely contact him for a tour in Rome. I was hesitant mostly because it was a 3 hour tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum and we were travelling with a 12 year old and I figured that would be really long for her. Well I am so glad we changed our minds and decided to go with Dario's private tour! There was so much we never would have learned had we done it on our own and my 12 year old even loved it! His knowledge and passion is extensive and he really brought the Colosseum and Roman Forum to life! Dario was also a great communicator prior to the tour and gave us some great restaurant suggestions close to our accommodations. I highly recommend using Mind the Guide!

5.00My daughter and I scheduled for 2 tours in 1 day. The first tour was the Colosseum and Forum. We got lost on the way to the Forum. Dario called me to check in and was good at calming me and asked if the group would mind waiting. Thankfully they said yes and we all had a lovely tour. Dario had lots to share about his lovely city and the interesting history. He went out of his way to recommend transportation, restaurants and even banks for money exchange. If you would like a small group tour with an experienced and passionate guide Dario is for you.

5.00We're very fortunate to be able to travel extensively, and often use guides. Our time with Dario couldn't have been better. He's an art historian and a native of Rome, and share's his extensive knowledge with charm and sophistication. We didn't have time to do his food and neighborhood tours, but he provided us with some great recommendations for restaurants and neighborhoods to explore. We're already planning our next trips to Italy, and Dario will definitely be part of our plans. Highest recommendation.
