Valle Del Bove
The first stop will be the viewpoint of the Valle del Bove, a large horseshoe-shaped volcano-tectonic depression located in the eastern sector of Etna, it is very important from a volcanological point of view as several outcrop along the walls. On fine days the view is breathtaking.

Be prepared for very steep hikes both up and down the mountains. Very narrow walkways. Better to have your own comfortable hiking boots. Excursion came with hiking boots that were very old and hurt your feet. Views were amazing, pictures just don't give it justice. Our guide Nino was fantastic. Very, very dusty. I recommend long pants and a wind jacket. We went in September and it was quite cool at the top, could have use something to cover my ears. So glad we took the cable cars & guide. It would be easy to get lost on your own.

It was great expirience. The landscape is breathtaking. The guide Peppe was great, he told us many interesting facts about Etna and her:s eruptions and was also very entertaining. I highly recommend the tour.

It was organized into groups of about 20 people. We walked on and off trails including steep downhills and narrow ridges. Definitely bring layers and something for your ears if sensitive to wind. Bring water and lunch or hearty snack. We walked about 3 miles in 3 hours. We did not go in any caves just walked through one slot passage way.
