Our group really enjoyed the tea ceremony and would recommend. The ceremony is in a traditional setting and Kaori our wonderful host brought the experience and culture to life from the moment the ceremony began.

A little difficult with bad knees but manageable. A stool was available if needed. Cowry was very obliging

In a very intimate setting we experienced tea as the samurai and other officials would have. Our teacher’s motions were very elegant in her demonstration and instruction as we each went through the process of preparing ceremonial tea. It is an intimate setting for a very small group with interesting explanations of the physical structure and the thinking behind the floor plan. Please be advised to allow plenty of time to navigate as the ceremony is held in a tiny alley a bit off the beaten path. Our taxi driver made us get out and finish the navigation on foot.

Really nice experience. Authentic and elegant. At the same time solemn and relaxed. Fantastic beautiful suit and sympathetic hostess that ensured a nice atmosphere. One got a sense of what the ceremony is and how much it has meant over time.

We had a wonderful authentic tea ceremony experience. Our small group of four had a private ceremony. We felt very welcome. It was a highlight of our stay in Kyoto.

It is wonderful. The tea mistress was a welcoming, calming presence and explained everything carefully. Just our three family members were in the ceremony so it felt intimate and special. This was. One of the highlights of our Kyoto trip.

The hostess for the tea ceremony demonstration was delightful. She led us through the details of the ceremony and was understanding when we couldn't sit in the traditional way she did. I would recommend the experience to anyone who asks.
