As America's new millionaires competed with each other to see who could have the most ornate mansion alongside the newly created Central Park they spent vast sums of money to hire architects inspired by European palaces to build structures the likes of which had never been seen in America.
These men and women were as fascinating and complex as the homes they inhabited and we'll hear stories of power, greed, love and generosity from a time when America was quickly becoming one of the richest and most powerful countries in the world.

5.00This was a fantastic experience. AJ was very knowledgeable. Also he carried an iPad which he used to display relevant historical pictures/faces. He also used headsets for each of the 20 people who joined the tour. Given it was a Sunday and most buildings were closed, I will revisit some of the building at a later time.

5.00Matthew (our tour guide) gave a 10 out of 10 tour! The two hours flew by. We learned about the Gilded Age mansions, the history of that time period and NYC overall. Most of the tour is outdoors, so wear comfortable shoes. HIGHLY recommend.
