This is the only Gilded Age Mansions tour in New York City recommended by Condé Nast Traveler magazine and listed by TripAdvisor as one of the top 10 most unique experiences in New York City.
Scandals! Murder! Romance Architecture! Step inside some of the few remaining Gilded Age mansions of Fifth Avenue and learn about the people who lived in and designed these masterpieces.
Great for fans of the HBO show, The Gilded Age. During the Gilded Age New York City became home to the greatest concentration of wealth in human history.
As America's new millionaires competed to see who could have the most ornate mansion alongside the newly created Central Park they spent vast sums of money to hire architects inspired by European palaces to build structures the likes of which had never been seen in America.
You will hear stories of power, greed, love and generosity from a time when America was quickly becoming one of the richest and most powerful countries in the world.

What a wonderful experience my family and I had with Care as our guide. Even with my family running late and missing the first stop Care still took the time to call us to let us know we could meet the group at the second stop on the itinerary which we did. He was so kind and seamless in adding us into the group without missing a beat in continuing his explanation of the stop. It was super informative and well-paced. It was topped off with Care offering us free tickets to The Met (I have no idea if this was a one time thing so I wouldn't book this expecting this but thought I would mention it as it was a super kind gesture). Highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in history and architecture you will not be disappointed!

Lots of good information! Our guide AJ was amazing. Let people know upfront the length of the tour and that most of it will be outside. We are seniors and it was an especially windy day so we were tired and cold. Ear buds weren’t workin properly.

Our guide, Care, was excellent. The issue is with the tour itself. We only went into one entry hall of one building. We were shown photos instead. I could have looked up the same photos with little research and saved $80 for my partner and myself. But, I repeat.: Our guide was excellent!

This was probably the best walking tour I’ve ever had. Care was a fabulous guide and very helpful and knowledgeable! The weather took a turn for the worse, but he made sure we stayed warm and dry. Going into buildings where we needed to. He was wonderful.
