Climb one hundred steps more to reach Quan Ba Heaven Gate for an impressive captivation of Dong Van Global Geo-Park, immense valleys of rice terraces, Tam Son town and many dotted surrounding local villages in clear days.
Quan Ba
The highlight of the scenery is Quan Ba Twin Mountains - the special art created to this land by Mother of Nature. Between mountains & rice terraces are two twin mountain forms likening as two breasts of a fairy narrated by locals in an interesting fairy tale.
Ma Pi Leng Pass
Ma Pi Leng Pass is not long but it is the most dangerous pass in the northern border mountain area. At the top of Ma Pi Leng mount is the “happiness” road, there has a stone stele recording the marks in the construction process. Ma Pi Leng pass is considered the unique regional heritage about landscape and geomorphology; pass peak area is considered as one of the most beautiful viewpoint to enjoy the panoramic in Vietnam; alley Nho Que River is one of the most unique tectonic valley in Vietnam. Scenery in Ma Pi Leng pass is unique with majestic and wild beauty.

Dinh Vua Meo
Stop to visit the palace of the H’mong king, which was a royal family of high rank during French colonial rule – this palace attracts keen interest from architecturally minded visitors due to its mixed style of European and Chinese architecture. The construction began to build in 1920 and lasted eight years. The architecture of the building bears highly artistic value imitated the Chinese ancient architecture (Man Thanh dynasty). It was not only a building but also a fort in the middle of rocky highland. In the early nineteenth century, the Vuong family controlled the entire region and Vuong Duc Chinh, head of the family, proclaimed himself as a “king of the H’Mong”. To reinforce his power, King H’mong built this palace-fortress. During his reign, the charismatic king attracted a lot of attention when he and other Meo residents joined forces with Ho Chi Minh to gain national freedom.
Lung Cam Cultural - Tourism Village
Sung La. Due to its location which is light years away from modern life in big cities, Sung La was chosen as the location for the award-winning movie Pao's Story. Since then Sung La has become a popular destination for travelers looking for something different and of course movie buffs.
Quan Ba
We also pass by and visit a special village. Lung Tam Village attracts many travelers from near and far owing to its astonishing landscape and serenity and H’Mong ethnic minority women in colorful attire. What surprises visitors to the village is that the H’Mong women do not need to wear shawls and jackets in such a harsh weather, as their clothes made of linen help keep them warm from the bitter cold in the mountainous region. Linen is like an air conditioner as it cools our body in summer and keeps us warm in winter.
No accommodation as we end tour at about 5PM at your hotel in Hanoi.

It was a unique experience that allowed me to live sustainable tourism for real. The activities took place in stunning landscapes and provided us with the opportunity to get up close and personal with the traditions and lifestyle of the local communities. The team was very attentive and was attentive to every detail so that we could enjoy our stay to the fullest. It is a beautiful way to discover Ha Giang and at the same time contribute to responsible tourism.

Loved visiting Northern Vietnam after finishing the Ha Giang Loop. The scenery is stunning with mountains, rice terraces, and peaceful villages everywhere. The people are friendly and the culture is very interesting. Highly recommend staying a few extra days to explore more of this beautiful region.

We had a great experience travelling with YESD to Ha Giang. We are a family of six, with four daughters aged between 15 and 8. A private tour with our own car was the best option, and the tour proved enjoyable for all of us. Our guide Quyet was excellent: very knowledgeable and also a very pleasant travel companion. YESD brands itself as a responsible travel organisation, and we experienced respect for the environment and communities in the way they organised and guided our tour. We also liked the two homestays and hotel we stayed at during the trip, with very friendly hosts and great food. Our driver Dac made us feel completely safe as he navigated the roads, which are in any case improving in recent years. We certainly recommend other to travel with YESD to Ha Giang or other destinations.

My daughter and I chose a 3D3N car tour with YESD based on their reputation for giving back to Vietnamese communities and selecting local businesses and homestays throughout. Our first contact was with Ha Tran, a wonderful communicator who helped with before and after travel plans as well as helping us select the trip we wished to have. She checked in with us before, during and after our trip. Our 1st night homestays and our last meal on the tour was in Thon Tha village with Mr. Thien and family. Their hospitality was great, and the meal of local dishes was delicious. The village was so interesting. This village and so many of the sites we saw were UNESCO-recognized. We were met for the first morning of our tour Mr. Binh and Mr. Tung, our experienced and knowledgeable driver and guide. There was so much amazing and beautiful landscape and culture throughout the 3 days. From waterfalls to eating at restaurants frequented by local people, trying our foods new to us. Lots of history of Vietnam, it’s peoples ess shown and explained to us. We visited some of the ethnic villages, took some treks to Lung Khuy cave, and along the Happiness trail. The other 2 nights were in Dong Van and Nam Dam, meeting some lovely people. Vietnam is a beautiful and interesting country. Our tour guide and driver helped us to explore it more on a personal level.

I had a chance to experience a 3-day, 2-night tour to Cao Bang and Ba Be with Yesd and it was one of the most memorable travel experiences I’ve had in Vietnam. The landscapes were absolutely breathtaking from the green Ba Be Lake to the awesome Ban Gioc Waterfall very close to the Chinese border, every stop is like a picture come to life. The limestone karsts and peaceful ethnic villages created a picture-perfect setting. We stayed in local homestay in Nguom Ngao and Ba Be, where the hosts were warm and welcoming, rooms are clean and the home-cooked meals were a real treat. Our tour guide, Ms. Ying was knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke English well. If you are looking to escape the crowds and explore Vietnam’s nature and culture, this Cao Bang – Ba Be tour is an absolute must.

We did a private tour around Ha Giang for three nights. A couple of us on bikes and some in a car. The team at YESD were brilliant. They were very safety conscious, provided great service and chose awesome accommodation. They were also very ethical in their approach to travel in this area. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for quality over price and wanting to avoid the backpacker type provider who look like cowboys at times.

My adult daughter and I are so pleased we took this tour, guided by the friendly and knowledgeable Anh. We covered over 1000km, and doing it on a bike with no experience was not an option for me. Instead we were safely driven along the extraordinary roads, and had time to relax, enjoy the scenery and learn about the history and people of the area. Accommodation for two of the nights was in homestays, with families in traditional villages. We enjoyed eating with the families and learning of their culture, before sleeping in beautiful purpose built rooms. The other night was at a hotel in Dong Van, where we went out for dinner and a breakfast of steamed pancakes in the old town. Anh is a wonderful guide who cares for her guests, and did everything she could to make our visit memorable. She even found us some more swimming spots, when she realised how much we enjoyed them. We were particularly pleased to use YESD Tours as they are a social enterprise which donates back to the areas they visit - from donating buffalos and teaching classes to building schools and contributing to community funds. It was an experience I highly recommend to others.
