We are committed to raising awareness about conservation and ethical elephant tourism, a key part of our elephant care philosophy.
Since 2017, we have dedicated ourselves to working with elephants as tour guides at our elephant care facility. This journey has provided us with invaluable experience and knowledge about these magnificent creatures. Our mission at Chiangmai Elephant Care is to create a better future for elephants and ensure their happiness.
At Chiangmai Elephant Care, we have seen firsthand the challenges elephants face, such as habitat loss, poaching, and human conflict. Our work in elephant care has taught us how to improve their well-being.
With our experience at Chiangmai Elephant Care, we understand the physical, emotional, and social needs of elephants. By studying their behavior and instincts, we create environments where they can thrive. We are passionate about improving their lives through elephant care because we believe they deserve joy, comfort, and freedom.

What To Expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product Half Day Morning: Pick up from hotel (08:00-8:30 am and drop off about 2 pm.) Learn about Elephant behaviors in natural surroundings. See these lovely animals in a safe and sustainable environment - Based on Ethical and Animal welfare - You will be picked up from your hotel lobby in Chiang Mai city - Drive approximately 1.5 hours through scenic agricultural areas - Change uniform - Learn about the elephants and traditional organic herbal dietary supplements - Observe our beautiful rescued elephants as they roam and socialize throughout our sanctuary - Walk and Observing Elephants in a Natural way ( As they live in the wild) - Lunch time - Back to Chiang Mai Please bring: Sunscreen, Bugs spray

5.00Really enjoyable experience with a small group of 3. Elephants really well looked after and free to roam 19 acres of land, it was really nice. Highly recommend anyone to do it. Ford was an excellent guide and had huge knowledge and love for elephants

You can immediately feel the deep respect and love they have for the elephants. There was absolutely no riding, no chains, and no forced interactions — just pure, ethical care and education. The elephants looked relaxed, healthy, and genuinely happy. Watching them roam, bathe, and interact naturally was such a powerful experience. The guides were knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about conservation. They took the time to educate us about each elephant’s story and the importance of responsible tourism. If you’re in Chiang Mai and want a truly ethical, heart-centered elephant experience, Tong Cruise is the one. I left feeling inspired, grateful, and confident that my money supported something truly good. Highly, highly recommend! 💛🐘

5.00I spent a lot of time looking for an elephant sanctuary to visit whilst in Thailand and decided to go with ChiangMai Elephant Care. There were 2 adult female elephants and one baby, 2 year old elephant. We learned that one was rescued from riding, and the other from logging, the baby was born in the sanctuary. We were given lunch upon arrival, pad Thai and fruit which we ate whilst observing the elephants. We then fed the elephants banana, watched them eating the banana / bamboo shoots, made medicine balls which we later fed to the elephants, watched them while they took a swim / swim walk in the river. Our guide, Ford, was extremely knowledgeable about the elephants so we learned a lot. His English was great so we were able to ask plenty of questions. There were another 2 boys looking after the elephants and it was clear to see the relationship between the humans and elephants and that they were well cared for. I would highly recommend this experience.

5.00This was an amazing experience. The main staff worker Ford and their amazing staff were very helpful. Ford explained everything you should know about the elephants and their 21 month old baby. I would definitely do this excursion again.

5.00Incredible experience at Elephant Care Chiang Mai. Quiet, remote & gorgeous setting. Small, intimate group, with lots of contact with the elephants. Our guide, Tong, was incredible, funny and took great care of us! Highly recommend this ethical elephant experience.
