Dont forget to carry swimsuits as itinerary includes kayaking to avoid getting wet. Wear comfortable shoes as it includes hiking. The food served during cruise was great and view was breathtaking, caves were inspirational.

This is a great day trip option to see a lot of what Ha Long Bay has to offer. You’re kept on track and on the move. Don’t expect to spend too long at the three islands, but it’s generally just enough time (I would’ve liked another 30-60 minutes at Ti Top beach, though). It’s a long day and you’ll definitely be tired by the end. I’m a foodie and thought lunch was surprisingly good and abundant. The ship was like a nice ferry with a dining room. The guide was great, and service on the boat was friendly. Before Ha Long, they stop at a pearl farm, but it’s mostly to get you to buy jewelry — that was the only part of the trip that I thought was a waste. And I didn’t appreciate that they allowed some hawkers on board the ship between ports to sell us tshirts and other touristy items. One recommendation if it’s an option — at one stop, they offer a speedboat tour (instead of a kayak or bamboo boat) for an extra cost of $10 per person. It’s well worth it since they quickly jet you around to a few other key locations in the bay, and it’s pretty exciting to speed through the calm waters. Tips: wear excursion clothing (light hiking pants or shorts) and sneakers. If you want to swim or go kayaking, bring clothes that can get wet and a towel, and bring a light jacket for the evening. Also bring some cash with you for any drinks on the ship and tips. Otherwise, you don’t need to bring much with you. And if you have a backpack, you can leave it on the bus or boat while you do the excursions. FYI, the waters in the bay are very calm. Except for some slight rocking during docking at the islands, you need not worry about the possibility of sea sickness.
