The citadel was built using a technique called "rammed earth" and had circular architecture with walls and moats. It served as a political, military, and cultural center for centuries. Excavations have uncovered artifacts such as bronze drums and pottery, providing insights into early Vietnamese civilization. Today, it is a symbol of Vietnam's heritage and identity and serves as a living museum about the daily life of Hanoi Countryside, preserving the essence of Vietnamese wet rice farming culture.

The weather was not great, so after checking with us, our guide and driver Q & Q picked us up with a jeep instead. It was an amazing way to get out of Hanoi just for a few kilometers and see the rice fields, the ancient citadel city and a cemetery. Guide Q was very knowledgeable and witty. He spoke English really well, and told us a lot about history, architecture and customs. He would try and answer our every question and was in for a joke as well. Driver Q was also great, steering us through the traffic with ease. The lunch was lovely and the lotus tea break was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended!

An awesome experience visiting the ceramic village and driving through the countryside on the outskirts of Hanoi. Johnny was a great guide and very knowledgeable. He is also an excellent and very safe driver. A very enjoyable afternoon.

Mary and Snow were really knowledgable and were eager to answer any questions that we had. My friend has a curiosity for local folk mythology and Snow had loads of great stories which she loved. The bike riding was really fun and we soon got over our fears. The tour felt quick paced and we saw lots. A highlight for us was visiting a local man who chatted to us, fed us tea and peanut candies among his collection of rescued ceramics.

All of our guides were very friendly and we felt very safe on the backs of our scooters. It was great seeing the streets of Hanoi, the beautiful countryside, a very interesting ceramic facility, and the visit into a local's home (with great conversation with him - fascinating!!!). This tour was exceptional all-around and we highly recommend.
