  Had a great time here. Its a very small operation that produces the best Gin and Vodka I have ever had! Tom our tour guide was excellent. He allowed us to pour our own tasters of the gin and vodka for me. I seem to have a bit brain fog later on in the night.... The prices are very reasonable for the centre of York. We went away and came back (after visiting the dungeon). We still got our drinks, access to the pizza deal, had a good time and met Dom the owner. Nice guy who is making excellent alcohol! We came home yesterday and we have already recommended the tour to most people we have met! Thanks for hosting us, from beginning to end it was a fantastic experience. They engraved Gin balloons were the finishing touch.

  Really good and informative tour of the distillery followed by lots of gin tasting. The whole place was very welcoming and our host for the session was brilliant. He was very knowledgeable on the different gins and had a sense of humour too. Would definitely recommend this to any gin lover (but make sure you have eaten first!)

  Really nice place, big leather armchairs, feels very relaxing. Cocktails great value at a tenner, I had one with whisky and butterscotch, really tasty. Food - had some bar snacks. The olives with garlic were really nice (and I don't even like green olives!!), and you must try the Serrano crisps!!

  This distillery/bar is outstanding. If you love gin, I highly recommend this establishment. We did the tour with the gin sampling, and it was so much fun! The experience started with a welcome drink, followed by a guided tour explaining the distilling process. We then headed upstairs to sample a variety of their gins. Then to top it off we all received gin glasses with our names etched on. The guide, Tom, really made the whole tour. He was so entertaining, and you could tell he was passionate about the gins. After the tour, we stayed for some food, which was spot on. We had the two-pizza deal for £13. The seating was really comfortable, and the place had a cosy, welcoming feel. The staff truly made the Hooting Owl a place I would happily return to again and again, and of course, the gin was fantastic!

  Line your stomach before you do the tour! Tom was a great host. Very knowledgeable and funny. Excellent value. Certainly something you could do more than once.

  Amazing experience. Mark, our host was a great story teller. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and will return. We are now £300 lighter, for all the right reasons of buying such a great product!

  This is such a fun tour for anyone interested in gin. Mark was a great guide and all the staff at Hooting Owl were fabulous. We also had the opportunity to meet & chat with Hooting Owl’s founder. The guided tasting was fun & we definitely knew more about gin & Hooting Owl when it concluded. Loved the variety of gin so there’s likely something for everyone at Hooting Owl A great place to spend a few hours in York
