Was a very interesting tour. They got a lot of explanations and were also allowed to make a small work of art themselves (I'm pretty proud of mine :) Our tour guide Leon was super friendly and explained a lot with good English. Also questions about country, people and politics - was really insightful. Can only recommend:)

On the 12th October, I joined three other guests for a wonderful full-day tour of the incense stick, non la (conical hat), and lacquer painting villages. It was a truly immersive and enriching experience. At the incense village, we toured the fascinating process of transforming bamboo into delicate incense sticks, and I even got to make a few myself. A large area of the village was beautifully decorated with rows of colorful sticks — truly an Instagram paradise. Next, at the non la village, we learned how these iconic conical hats are made and got hands-on experience painting our own designs. It was a fun and creative activity, followed by a delicious and authentic Vietnamese lunch. After lunch, we drove about an hour to the lacquer painting village. We were given a detailed tour and a demonstration of the traditional lacquer process. Then, we each created our own lacquer tile, carefully applying eggshell pieces and finishing it with gold flakes — a memorable and rewarding hands-on experience. A big shoutout to **Kevin**, our tour guide, who was punctual, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Throughout the day, he shared fascinating insights into Vietnam’s history, heritage, and culture, making the tour both educational and enjoyable. I highly recommend this full-day tour to anyone interested in traditional Vietnamese crafts, local life, and hands-on cultural experiences.
