Excellent experience! We learnt how to make a really tasty Murgh Masala, lovely Subji and salad raita. The food was delicious and we are looking forward to making it again! Monisha is an excellent teacher as she explained every step clearly, by giving plenty of advice and she is a fantastic host with whom you feel at ease talking about a variety of topics. Really recommended!

We had a great day. It started in a local shop where Monisha gave great tips on buying Indian rice and spices. Back at the house we prepped and cooked all day doing a total of six fish and seafood dishes stopping for lunch to eat two of them. The others, we brought home to either have for dinner or freeze for another day. Generous portions and everything was delicious. We felt that we learned a lot about Indian cooking - both spicing and methods. Much of the advice and the techniques could be applied to other cuisines. Just four of us on the course so we got lots of attention. Highly recommend!

This was my second cooking class with Monisha. I loved the first one (Simple Indian Food) and was really keen to do another one (Fish & Seafood). As always, Monisha was a gracious and entertaining host, and a fantastic teacher. Could not recommend more!

Monisha is a great teacher with a charismatic personality. My husband had bought the course for us and we both really enjoyed it. We ate 3 of the dishes for lunch and took 4 home. Everything was delicious and didn’t require you buying any unusual spices that you wouldn’t use again. She gave us some great tips like making the curry sauce base and freezing and how versatile it is.. add chicken or prawns or beans for future dishes with most of the work already done. We were in a group of 7 people. Like some others have said yes there is one cooker so you do take turns cooking but you all carry out some of the preparation of chopping, slicing etc and you pick up tips even when you’re just observing. The raita was the best I’ve ever tasted !

The course was excellent. Monisha was so very passionate about food and very keen to share her knowledge with us. we learned how to make dough and get it to the right consistency - this was using intuition and not scales! We discovered how to make a roti circular, and not like a splat. And we learned a few things that weren't part of the course, such as some tips on cooking curries and some other types of bread. Monisha made it great fun and an easy environment to learn.

I had a wonderful class, attending with my dad. Monisha is a true Indian cooking and history expert. It really was centred upon learning - paced so well too. The food we made was so hearty and delicious, plus we had the pleasure of being alongside some really nice classmates - who were equally curious and passionate. All round a great day out. Thanks Monisha!

An excellent class. Monisha is a fantastic teacher: knowledgeable, enthusiastic, good-humoured. She has tons of expertise and passed on plenty of practical tips, ranging from what to buy in the supermarket to knife craft to using spices. We prepared a wide variety of vegetarian dishes and learned a foolproof way of cooking perfect rice. I feel we acquired real skills to use in the future. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience learning about Indian cooking. You are invited as a guest in Monisha’s home - she has spent a career in teaching about food (through cookbooks and various classes) and her passion shows. Felt in the end as though the concepts behind using spices (how they are cooked, not the number of them, matters - and no “curry powder”!) and heating ingredients to cook evenly were demystified. The location is close to LHR airport - easily accessible on the Tube but do take the commute into account when booking.
