You will be met at Hounslow West Underground station and taken to the local Indian shop to learn how to buy the ingredients that we will use in the cooking class. We will then walk to the Cooking With Monisha kitchen, a 5 minute walk away (no steps) to begin the class. You will be offered Masala Chai as we talk through how to put together an Indian meal. We will then cook our meal to include Pulao Rice, a curry (chicken or chickpea), a smoked cumin raita (a dish made with salad vegetables and yoghurt) and a vegetable side dish. We will cook as a group but there will be lots of hands on activity as we want our guests to do the cooking! We will eat what we cook at the end. We will provide recipe sheets and ingredients. For anyone who enjoys cooking or eating Indian food, this class is a must. From the moment you book, Monisha (your chef and instructor) is communicative and helpful. The class itself involves a visit to the grocer to discuss the best ingredients to set you up for success and then a short walk to Monisha’s home and kitchen to prepare a feast from scratch. She’s kind, funny and a wonderful instructor for any skill level. At the end of the course, you sit down and eat some of the finest Indian food you’ll ever try (and that you had a hand in making). I will definitely be taking additional courses from Monisha in the future. Highly recommend for a fun and educational outing in London. You also won’t leave hungry!

If we could give more than just five stars we would! Everything about this class was outstanding, starting with an easy meeting point just outside the Underground station, where we were met and welcomed met personally by Monisha. We enjoyed the trip to the nearby grocery store to learn tips for choosing the best ingredients, which will help us to duplicate the great dishes we prepared in class. Monisha made us feel comfortable and welcome in her kitchen and then she walked us through not only the recipes, but also the science behind building flavors in Indian food that are delicious. The recipes were easy to follow and Monisha's instruction was patient, thorough, and encouraging. She answered our questions and provided information we will use again and again. The food ... wonderful! It was amazing how such delicious food was created from such simple and easy to find ingredients that were thoughtfully selected. It is easy to understand how Monisha's cookbooks have won so many rewards. What a treat to experience this class. We will be coming back for more next time we visit London.
