Kinkakuji Temple
This famous Zen temple is an icon of Samurai culture. You enter this venerated temple right after it opens in the morning, when few people visit. At this hour it is possible to get a good look at the gilded building and its beautiful appearance reflected in the pond and to take pictures at your own pace.

5.00We had a great tour and covered a lot of ground in Kyoto. Our guide, Emiko, was absolutely lovely and we really enjoyed our time with her. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. There is lots of walking but for those that don't have much time to spend in Kyoto, this is a great option! We would recommend!

He told us all about the history of everything we were seeing and made lovely chit chat with all 4 of us (including the kids about Studio Ghibli films). He was a perfect host and also accommodated when we asked to switch the tour around a little. He was just wonderful and we thank him so much!
