What To Expect
Hanoi
7:00 – 7:30 Get picked up in your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or our office – No. 106 Tran Nhat Duat, then travel via the 5B expressway to Hai Phong, stopping briefly at V52 in Gia Loc. In Hai Phong, take the sea-crossing road from Tan Vu to Lach Huyen port, enjoying scenic views of Dinh Vu port. Travel to Cai Vieng from Got port by ferry.
Cat Ba
10:15 – 10:30 Reach "CAT BA PEARL ISLAND." Drive on a scenic road between the sea and the green mountains of Cat Ba National Park.

5.00This was a great tour - Lan Ha Bay is beautiful and peaceful, the boat was comfortable and the cable car, cycling and kayaking were also fun. In particular, we really enjoyed the day with Flora, our guide, she was fun and kind and made sure everything ran smoothly.

5.00recommend Han La Bay if you don't want to see cruise ships and tourist everywhere, this is why I chose this over Ha Long Bay and I certainly wasn't disappointed. We were so lucky to have had "TAM" as our guide for the day. He picked me up at 6.30 am and I was the last to be dropped off at 9.30pm. He put in a full day and was polite and caring for the whole day, nothing was a problem for him. He made sure everyone on the cruise was catered for and had an eye on everyone.

5.00We were torn on this tour and another for Ha Long Bay. Thankfully we met two other couples who both went to Ha Long the day prior and told us we made the right choice. Great choice!
Disappointing attitudes and actions

3.00We had a great time on board the cruise and the day, except some of the food (this didn’t overly bother us as it would of suited some’s taste and we get that). Until it was the dinner break/stop on the bus ride back to Hanoi. Apparently us eating our dinner was funny, according to the two bus drivers and two tour guides. So funny that the other bus driver went onto his bus to take photos (maybe a video) of us eating. We could both see him and what he was doing, very clearly. When I mentioned something to my tour guide, first he laughed then said he’ll contact the other bus…. By this point I no longer cared and was completely disrespected. A quick Google found that (just like majority of countries) you need to gain someone’s consent before taking a photo of them. Thoroughly disappointed as this then ruined the vibes we had from our day. I am purposely not mentioning names in hope they won’t do it to others again..
