Travel in a comfortable minivan from the French Quarter through the Treme and along the historic mansion lined Esplanade Ave to the Bayou St. John neighborhood where we will trace an ancient portage road used by natives for thousands of years, and discover the very origins of why this site was selected by the French to build the city of New Orleans!
Along the way we will stop at an old cemetery where we just might encounter some restless spirits! We'll then travel through the Bayou St. John neighborhood and see the oldest house in New Orleans and the bayou that made the city possible! We'll visit the very spot Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau once held her rituals, before going to City Park to see some of the oldest oak trees in the city. In City Park we'll stop and get some beignets at Cafe Du Monde! Then we'll stop in a nature reserve and look for alligators and exotic birds before traveling to the lakefront and the ruins of a 300 year old French fort!

My daughter and I took a sunset version of this tour and were really thrilled with it. I've been coming to New Orleans since 1999 and appreciate getting out of the usual spots like the FQ, Garden District, etc. Brian adapted the tour on the fly to ensure that we got a beautiful sunset over Ponchatrain, amongst several other places with wildlife that were just plain cool. Plus, like most New Orleanians, he had some excellent food recs that were spot on. I recommend going to see some wildlife and the lake front instead of yet another cliched ghost tour. I know we'll be back.

So fun! Informative and Spooky. This is the tour you are looking for! Avoid the large mob tours. We’ve been coming to New Orleans 25 years and still learned several new things. We’ll be back for the Garden District tour for sure. Thank you, Brian!

We would echo all of the other positive reviews. My wife and I did a private tour combining both the Garden District and City tours. The experience was so much more personal and tailored than you would get in a larger, less individualized setting. We never felt like we were on a strict timeline and could tailor the experience to our interests. This tour was as fun and informative as any we’ve done around the world. We have nothing negative to say. 5 stars all the way.

This was a fun tour! Been coming here for 17 years. Saw and learned lots of new and interesting things. Our guide Brian was fun, upbeat and full of knowledge! If you want a tour that takes you out of the French Quarter to places you probably wouldn't know to venture to, you will enjoy this tour. Thanks Brian!!

Highly recommended. This tour does not just take you off the beaten path, it takes you way outside expectations of what a New Orleans tour can be. Wildlife, nature, deep local history… Brian knows the subjects and will take you places you were not expecting . Informative and engaging, this was one of the highlights of our trip.

We really enjoyed the driving tour around other areas of New Orleans including City Park, the cemetery, and the beautiful tree lined streets from a time long ago. Brian was very knowledgeable and interesting and gave us information we wouldn’t have known about, including all the birds and neighborhood cats that live in the areas. We had a lot of fun and would recommend this tour for a unique perspective of this beloved city.

Highly recommend this tour. We have been visiting New Orleans for many years and wanted to branch out of our familiar areas. We have enjoyed The New Orleans Lifestyle social media content, so when they began offering tours, it was an obvious choice. There were three of us and we chose a private tour. It was perfect, we learned so much, saw so many things, and so enjoyed every minute. Can't wait to do the Sunset tour on our next visit. Thank you!
