Explore the ancient capital Hoa Lư, where the spirit of Vietnam’s first kings still lingers. Drift along the emerald waterways of Tam Cốc or Tràng An, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and hidden caves that reveal breathtaking views at every turn. Hoa Lu Ancient Capital
Hoa Lu was the capital of Vietnam during the 10th and 11th centuries, serving as the political and cultural center of the country under the Dinh, Early Le, and Ly dynasties. Located in the northern province of Ninh Bình, about 90 kilometers south of Hanoi, Hoa Lu is an ancient historical site surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains and lush valleys. The capital city was strategically chosen due to its natural defenses and its proximity to both the Red River Delta and the sea. It flourished for more than 40 years before being moved to Thang Long (modern-day Hanoi) in 1010 during the reign of the Ly Dynasty. Today, Hoa Lu remains an important archaeological and historical site. Visitors can explore remnants of ancient temples dedicated to past emperors, such as the Dinh Tien Hoang Temple and the Le Dai Hanh Temple.
Mua Caves
Múa Cave (also known as Múa Cave) is a stunning natural attraction located in Ninh Bình Province, northern Vietnam. It is part of the Múa Cave complex and sits at the foot of Múa Mountain in the Hoa Lư District, which is famous for its dramatic karst landscapes and historical significance. Múa Cave is not just a cave but a cultural and natural landmark that draws visitors for its scenic beauty, historical sites, and the challenging hike that leads to panoramic views of the region. The main attraction of Múa Cave is the hike up Múa Mountain, which is often called the “stairway to heaven” due to its 500 stone steps that lead to the summit. The hike can be moderately challenging, but the reward is a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape, including the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and the winding Ngo Dong River that flows through the lush valleys and rice paddies.

We had an amazing excursion and truly unforgettable experience! There were only two of us at first, and the total group was 9 people — all wonderful, friendly people. Thanks to our guide, we quickly became friends with everyone, which made the trip even more enjoyable. Our guide Minh was absolutely fantastic — very friendly, cheerful, and professional. He explained everything clearly in English, helped us at every step, and took many beautiful photos of us during the tour. At the end of the excursion, we even received a lovely photo gift, which was a wonderful surprise. We are very grateful to him for his care and attention. The program was rich and diverse: boat rides, cycling, hiking up the mountains with breathtaking views, and visiting an ancient city. The scenery was absolutely stunning and truly took our breath away. Transportation was very comfortable — a luxury limousine bus — and everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. We enjoyed every moment of this trip and can confidently say it was the best excursion in Ninh Binh. Warm greetings to everyone from Diana and Natalia! Highly recommended to everyone — you will not regret it!

Successfully fulfilled our trip to Hanoi nearby destination Ninh binh today. Glad to have Donie guiding during the day, full of enthusiasm and wisdom. He provided pro services and fun storytelling without being lengthy. Tour length was a bit short, only if we could take just a bit more time trekking and getting photos. Weather was strange actually today, so foggy and hazy, maybe resulting from pollution sadly for this super pretty country.

Amazing tour to Ninh Binh. I have taken many organized trips in many countries and can certainly state that tour with Alex was one of the best and definitely a highlight of my trip to Vietnam. First of all, the limo bus was new, clean and had massage seats with wifi and charging ports to keep the cellphone charged. Alex definitely new the game. We were slightly ahead of all other groups and let me tell you, this is super important. You want to have the touring site to yourself and not sharing it with 200+ peoples from other tour groups. So, thank you Alex. This experience was very memorable. On top, Alex was very clever, funny and made the commute between site entertaining. He shared not also with the importance of the sites but about human aspect of leaving in Vietnam. Just can't be thankful enough!

I would say it was a well spent day, booked it through agency, tickets not included. if all inclusive, less than 50 dollars. I got to know new dudes from different countries. Overall program is well run but lacked flexibility, tourist stop I think should be just 10 minutes instead of 30. Can’t deny the guide was so proactive and knowledgeable as well as super awesome weather.

I highly recommend Dono as a guide! I'm very happy with his work. I also had a wonderful guide in the Mekong Delta, but Dono stands out even more. It wasn't a solo trip like in the delta; Dono had a large group, yet he took such good care of each participant! He took individual photos of each participant, was always present, full of energy and commitment, very knowledgeable, and talked about the history, economy, and life of the local people. His English is excellent and he speaks clearly. Plus, he has a sense of humor, and he even sings without a single false note 😁. Everything was top-notch. Thank you.
