The Oak Alley plantation tour is one of the most magnificent plantation tours near New Orleans because of the 28 evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from the river road to the Plantation House. The Greek Revival home dates back to 1837. Located on the grounds is a restaurant, blacksmith shop, Souvenir Shop and antique farm equipment. Next up is an airboat tour - hold onto your hat! Our New Orleans Airboat Swamp Tour is a high speed adventure that is part tour and part ride. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. Our airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. So, every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife.

The airboat was great but it can be a windy experience so take a jacket. We saw alligators, cranes, pelicans, a very big owl, swamp cows, and a mother EAGLE feeding it's young.....how cool is that! The plantation tour was informative and must see, the mint julip was very tasty and smooth.

Oak Valley was a very eye opening experience, had a great time walking around the grounds with the gorgeous old oaks. The swamp tour was a blast, the guide was great as was the scenery. Saw alligators, egrets, blue herons and jumping fish. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our trip to Oak Alley Plantation, it was an education and sobering experience learning about the contrast in the life of the enslaved people and plantation owners. We couldn’t have got there without an organised trip, so would recommend taking the tour if you don’t have transport. I would have liked to have spent more time there, 2 hours wasn’t quite enough I felt. We then took the airboat tour of the swamp which was a very enjoyable experience. We saw alligators in their natural habitat and other wildlife too. The boat operator was friendly and sociable. I would have appreciated more information about what we saw without having to ask, but overall a great experience. The tour operator was very helpful and responsive to messages. They very kindly returned my hat which I left on the pick up bus, which was above and beyond my expectations.

Dewey was an amazing airboat guide. I didn’t stop smiling the entire time, great to hear what life is really like growing up in the bayous and made the day incredible. Oak alley was a gorgeous place and the experience was very reflective for my wife as it was her first experience in the southern states and exposure to pre civil war history in person.
