Wonderful trip. Our guide had a great personality, he answered so many of our WWII questions. It was just the right amount of time, since we had so much to see in France.

Our guide, Oliver, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. The damp and chilly morning did not diminish the service we received. Being on Omaha beach at dawn was very powerful, and the weather and scarce tourist population provided a reverent setting. I would highly recommend the morning tour!

We booked this tour while on a cruise that stopped in Le Havre, France. Therre picked us up at the port and we travelled to Omaha Beach. During the trip, Therre gave us a detailed description of the countryside and the little towns and their impact during WW2. He was a very good guide and told us a lot about the beaches and the conditions the men faced when they stormed the beach.

  • The absolute best half day tour!

The overlord tour van meets at the Villa Lara hotel behind the Churchill hotel. Super convenient and easy to get to at this location. We met our tour guide Loci and quickly realized that we were the only 2 on our tour. It just doesn’t get better than having your own private tour. The weather was cold, wet and rainy when we started in the morning. It cleared up mid morning and turned out to be a beautiful day. We left on time and our tour guide was providing plenty of details as we drove to the cemetery first which was wonderful because it was early and not yet super busy. From there we went to Omaha Beach and then onto Ponte Du Hoc. I would highly recommend this tour company and the fantastic tour experience that they provided.

  • Highlight of our trip

Overlord Tours was highly recommended by our neighbors after they visited this summer. I’m so glad I heeded their advice. My dad and I had a fantastic experience. As it was late in the season, we ended up being the only two people on the tour, and our guide, Jack (who our neighbors also had), was absolutely amazing - a true fount of knowledge about all things D-Day. We learned so much and both agreed it was the highlight of our trip. I had worried that the half day trip would feel too short or not inclusive enough, but it was just right for my elderly father and included the perfect amount of history and anecdotes. I highly recommend this tour!

Whether you know a lot about WWII or are just beginning to learn, this tour is an absolute must. Highly recommend Rémy for anyone visiting the Normandy beaches!

  • Outstanding Private D-Day Tour with Overlord’s Theo Vadelorge

We took a private tour of Juno, Sword, and Gold Beaches, the British Museum, Cemetery, Memorial and Pegasus Bridge with Overlord Tours in October 2025, guided by Theo Vadelorge. Theo, a young Bayeux local, was exceptionally knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and engaging throughout the day. His great-grandfather was charged with the careful reburial of American soldiers from Utah and Omaha Beaches at the Normandy American Cemetery, adding a moving personal dimension to the tour. Although the day was cold, wet, and windy—some stops had to be done from the car—the tour remained absolutely fascinating. Theo’s storytelling and command of history brought each site to life. Highly recommend, but be sure to bring warm, windproof, and waterproof clothing!

This was an amazing tour. Our guide Antoine was fantastic in every way. So knowledgeable and personable, an absolute delight! This was my second trip to the beaches of Normandy and I came away even more awed of the bravery and sacrifice of all who were involved. Thank you to Antoine and Overlord Tours!

This was a wonderful and informative tour. All the thanks go to Remy, the best guide ever! Remy not only had an enormous amount of knowledge, but he was able to relate it in a very moving and engaging manner. To hear the stories while standing on the beach, made everything seem very real. I was researching my father’s experience at Omaha beach and this was very helpful. The American Cemetery was also very moving. I highly recommend this tour!
