Your hosts Paolo and Simone learned how to grow and make wine, how to make pasta from scratch, and of course how to prepare wonderful local delicacies from their Nonna. You'll get a glimpse of this characteristic town and it's rich history dating back to Roman times. After a short walk, you'll arrive at a beautiful wine cellar where your hosts will open the wines produced at the family vineyard, namely Frascati Superiore D.O.C.G. (don't worry, you'll learn what all those initials mean!) and Vagnolo. After tasting each wine with some traditional appetisers, the pasta making begins! Our chef will teach you how to make real homemade pasta, so be ready to get your hands dirty! Once you have mixed and rolled out your pasta you will be faced with a difficult choice, WHICH Roman style dish would you like to create? Choose from three typical recipes, Carbonara, Amatriciana, or Cacio e Pepe and let the chef guide you through the basics of preparation. The grand finale? Buon Appetito! Sit and enjoy your pasta while conversing with the other guests for as long as you like. After dinner you'll have a chance to view the "caves" below the wine cellar.

We booked this experience last minute on a day when we had nothing planned in Rome, and I’m so glad we did! It ended up being one of the most fun things we did on our trip. It’s a family-run business, and you can genuinely see the pride they take in what they do. We had an incredible time—they were knowledgeable, patient (especially with us English speakers), and made the whole experience so enjoyable. The pasta was amazing, and they really took their time teaching us. They also taught us about wine, and their family wine was absolutely delicious. I’d recommend this experience to anyone visiting Rome!

simone met us outside the station which was easy to find whether you are to drive or arrive by train. she took us for a small tour of Frascati town and was immediately friendly and warm. she gave us some history of the town and her family. we then got into the wine tasting, some of the best wine we have tasted! the pasta making was great fun and she was an excellent teacher. we had a small tour of the cellar and then watched as she cooked the pasta (very well!). we all ate together and had a lovely chat with the other people on the tour. there’s opportunity to buy extra glasses of wine or a bottle and some souvenirs. i would recommend this tour to anyone. the food, history, people and place was lovely and we felt very welcome. a brilliant day that we haven’t stopped talking about! Thank you!!

This class was absolutely fantastic! We booked it because we have several friends and family members who have also booked this class over the years and they spoke so highly of it. Now we know why. Rose was our guide. Her family owns the winery that operates this cooking class. She was so friendly and lovely. We learned so much about the wines in this region and we learned how to make amazing pasta! Frascati is such a quaint town and such a welcome break from the hustle of Rome. We’re so glad we took this class!

Perfect. My wife and two children (ages 9) had a wonderful experience. The town of Frascati is amazing and easy to get to from Rome via commuter train. We came in early and hung around afterwards to enjoy some food and beverage after the pasta making. From Scratch was great from the beginning. They met us at the train station, gave a quick tour of the town along with some history. We tasted a red and white wine from their vineyard, made the pasta, toured the cellar, and then we observed how to make the pasta dish itself. We also had the opportunity to purchase a bottle of wine to enjoy with our dinner. The food was excellent. I highly recommend this experience over something in Rome itself. It feels very authentic and personal even though we were with a few other people.

What a fabulous experience! The wine was beautiful, the food was delious. One of our group was gluten free and was able to make her own pasta too. We were also lucky to have a fabulous mix of people in our session.

It wasn't as clear as it should be what's involved in getting to the location. Was a bit of a trek and trains were difficult to figure out.
