Pompeii and Herculaneum are two of Europe's most extraordinary archaeological sites, yet reaching them can be challenging. Traveling by high-speed train, we've removed the stress so that you can spend your time visiting incredible sites and making memories, not sitting on a cramped bus!

Pompei was a large and diverse city with a healthy mix of wealthy elite, merchants, artisans, and slaves whose lives you'll get a crystal-clear glimpse of on a 2-hour walking tour.

After some rest-and-recharge at an authentic pizzeria, a short transfer will take us to our second destination.

Less than half the size of Pompeii, Herculaneum was a small coastal city characterized by remarkably preserved wooden structures and vibrant frescoes. With an expert guide by your side, walk in the footsteps of the noble Romans who once called this lost city home.

Upon conclusion of your tour, a short transfer will bring you back to Naples Station, where your fast train back to Rome awaits!

Rome Termini Station is not the easiest to navigate. We arrived very early as we weren’t familiar with the station. Signage was not clear and station staff gave us the wrong information of where the meeting place was. We eventually found it. Our Rome meeting person arrived not long after that. Everything went great. The train trip to Naples was good. We found the guide for the other tour easily, our guide was at Pompeii. We then left the station for the bus but our bus was not there. Apparently there was an accident and they were stuck in traffic so the other guide arranged for another bus and driver which arrived about 10-15 minutes later. We arrived at Pompeii where our guide Ida was waiting and we started the tour. Ida was very polite and informative. Had a lot of knowledge of the archaeology and history. After the tour we went to lunch in the same area. The staff at the restaurant had no idea what I was talking about so they seated us at a table for two. Then the manager came out and said no you should be out the back, so we moved but he didn’t tell us what table. So we found another staff member who directed us to a group table. We just got settled at the second table when we were told that’s not your table and we were moved again to the correct table. It’s not just pizza as the title states. We had a three course meal with generous served, and you could choose anything from the menu which we were not told. The food was very good. Then we were off to Herculaneum. I didn’t do this part of the tour and stayed on the bus. I wish this was first on the itinerary as I had never been there and could have missed out on Pompeii as I have been there before. I didn’t do this part as I have bad knees and Pompeii took all my reserves. The train trip back was quick and we were back in Rome and in a taxi a short time later. While the tour was great I don’t recommend it to anyone with walking issues.

Our tour of Pompeii and the Herculaneum was fantastic. The rich history and stories were skillfully told to us by Rosella. She expertly walked us through both sites. Learn how the mountian moved and pushed the sea back as well as how the people lived was fascinating. Highly recommend the tour of Pompeii and the Herculaneum.

  • Great Tour of Two Amazing Sites

This tour made it so easy to visit both archaeological sites from Rome! We were a little nervous about taking the train since we don't speak Italian but the instructions were crystal clear and the staff were right there with us every step of the way. Our tour guide, Rosella, was very kind, patient and knowledgeable. Obviously we could only see a small portion of Pompeii but the tour didn't feel rushed. The lunch was good and the portions were huge! We couldn't have asked for a better day.

Excellent tour. It was very easy to find the staff at Termini station. The Italian trains are VERY good. Our guide (Benedict) and our driver (Arcangelo), excellent both. While Pompeii is VERY impressive, visiting Herculaneum is something you never expect. You see things you never imagined. Much better preserved than Pompeii, I recommend it 1000%
