2.00I booked transportation for my group of six from our London hotel to Heathrow Airport. What I booked said it was for 6-8 persons. What arrived certainly was not. And our driver was 30 minutes late. Said there was an accident they had to go around. I get there are accidents but for 30 minutes?? Then when he saw our group and luggage he said, oh no! He couldn’t take all that. Six people and luggage won’t fit. If six people are going from a hotel to an airport aren’t they going to have luggage? Wouldn’t you assume that and send a van capable of holding everyone and everything instead of a small taxi? One couple in our group ended up having to get their own taxi to the tune of $137. And if this sounds like an isolated incident, it definitely is not. I watched the very same thing happen to a family at the Southampton Cruise Terminal. Half of their family ended up having to take a taxi to their hotel. Not everyone can afford an additional $137 at the end of their dream vacation. Some people budget very closely for vacations. I feel this is highly unexceptional customer service. I realize I was in a country different than my own but is this how this type of situation is handled in Europe?
