Blenheim Palace
Experience as described by Queen Victoria the Empress Of India as “The most magnificent Palace in England, far better than my home Buckingham Palace!” In stunning Baroque architecture from 11 local quarries, this giant Palace is full of the wow factor. It has been used to film more period dramas than any other site in the UK and showcases the British Empire's wealth and standing in the world, in the 18th Century. We look through the Palace rooms, including where Sir Winston Churchill was born and the magnificent library complete with musical organ. We also visit the beautiful family chapel of the owner, The Duke of Marlborough and look around the award winning Churchill Museum. Finishing with the ornate formal gardens with an extensive look across Blenheim Palace's land!
Woodstock
The town of Woodstock is right on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, just eight miles north west of Oxford. Most tourists never actually see the historic Woodstock, tucked away off the busy main road, next to its grand and glorious neighbour, Blenheim Palace. Woodstock is more than worthy of a visit in its own right. A medieval ‘new town’, founded to cater for visitors to a royal hunting lodge, Woodstock has a 900 year history of hospitality. The town’s fine Georgian facades often disguise far older buildings that house all manner of fascinating hotels and cafes, shops and galleries.

Great day in spite of the weather. Barry was charming and good sense of humor. That coupled with his knowledge made a delightful combination
