  • Boom was our tour guide....

Boom was our tour guide. Absolutely awesome guide and really made the entire trip a blast. We booked a private tour so it was more personal but even with a group this would be fun. The hike portion it rained which actually made it more fun. We got to see some wildlife come to life with the rain. The hot springs were fun as well. Sadly the rain caused the water to be too murky for us to swim under it.

Boom picked us up at our Airbnb right on time. We had a pleasant trip through the countryside past Liberia and into Rincon de la vieja national park. For the first section as we hiked through the park Boom took plenty of opportunities to point out local flauna, wildlife, and stop to take so many amazing pictures of my wife and I. He was a great guide, answered all the questions we had and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. 10/10 would recommend this to others and if you’re lucky enough to get Boom as you’re guide then even better.

The tour was amazing! Our tour guide "Boom" was extremely knowledgeable on the local wildlife and fauna. He came all the way out to Ocotal to pick us up and made the long car ride a blast. Great English and great experience all around. It ended up being just me and my girlfriend with one other couple for a small group of 4. The hike wasn't too difficult, but just enough where the waterfall experience and hot springs at the end felt amazing. The included Lunch buffet at Hacienda Guachipelin was good too. To me, it was easily a 10/10.

We had Boom as a tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic. He was very knowledgeable on the rainforest plants - he studied rainforest ecology. He pointed out what plants were edible, which ones were dangerous, and interesting facts etc. We got to hike (saw some monkeys), swim in a waterfall, have a mud spa experience, and swim in some hot springs. We really enjoyed our time. The whole experience was very organized, professional and on time. The company is great at communicating and accommodating as well. Would highly recommend!

  • Enjoyable day at the volcano, complete with a lucky sighting of spider monkeys. Plenty of walking at a relaxing pace

We had an incredible day exploring Rincon de la Vieja. Our tour guide Rudy was excellent and taught us so much about what we saw throughout the tour but also about Costa Rica. He was very conversationalist but also allowed us to enjoy our own time. The drive to and from Rincon de la Vieja from our resort near Coco was 1.5 hours each way, and at the park, we had a 2 hour hike to see the various aspects of the volcano. We saw a good amount of wildlife which isn’t a guarantee but we got lucky to see several iguanas, some spiders and even a few spider monkeys. We also had a great clear day at the waterfall and lastly spent time relaxing in the hot springs. Rudy was a fun tour guide through it all and would happily take a tour with him again—next time to see the sloths!

Rudy was amazing. He clearly has a passion for hospitality and this area. During the drive from our hotel he was engaging and informative of the area and culture, as well as what to expect for the day. He was always polite, considerate, and helpful. During the hike he clearly knew everything about the mountain, volcano, and hot springs. He was helpful to take photos for everyone, stopped for an unexpected bathroom break on the way there and drove very safely and efficiently. My wife booked the excursion, so I’m not sure if it’s an option to request your guide and I’m sure the rest are also great, but Rudy was outstanding.

We had a wonderful time! Our tour guide Rudy was exceptional. He was very knowledgable, personal, friendly, and quickly felt like part of the family. He helped us capture memories that will last a lifetime by offering to take pictures and videos of our group. He even took pictures with us! The tour itself was beautiful. We saw monkeys, leaf ants, exotic plants, and learned all about volcanic activity from Rudy. The waterfall was refreshing and the hot springs were soothing. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

  • A volcano could have killed us so we saw Sloths.

Incredible trip we had Pablo, as out main tour guide. We ended up not getting to go to the volcano due to seismic activity. So we ended up going to see sloths and making coffee instead. Everyone was incredibly nice and informative we had Jostin for our coffee tour and . Samuel showed us a whole bunch of frogs and sloths. We even got to see a few snakes and a hawk. Incredibly worth it even if you book the regular tour

The entire day was fantastic! We started off by doing a two hour hike and in the hike, we saw many wildlife and fauna! We saw hot steam from the active volcano, as well as a boiling mud pools! We saw a family of wild pigs, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, lots of butterflies and a snake skin. Our tour guide, Carlos was very well informed of all of the nature processes and things out in the jungle! After the two hour hike, we got to go to a waterfall where we took a swim. The water was freezing cold, but our tour guide took many videos and pictures. It was amazing! Then after the waterfall, we went to the Hot Springs, there were many pools varying for many different degrees. We got into 100°, 102° and 104° and we got to put mud on ourselves and detoxify our bodies and our faces! Then we had a delicious Costa Rican lunch buffet style!!! Our tour guide Carlos was absolutely amazing. I think he made the trip and the tour that much more informative and interesting because of all the small tips and information that he provided throughout the entire day! We loved it so much that we booked another tour!
