Wen did a wonderful job explaining the tenets of our Christian faith and then thoughtfully related all the spiritual and secular history contained in St John Lateran Basilica to those tenets. We thoroughly enjoyed the depth of her understanding and faith. We highly recommend this tour!

Wen was an excellent guide, providing so much information about the history of the Basilica. Would have appreciated the beauty, but would not have understood the significance of many items inside without Wen’s knowledge. Holy stairs were very moving. This was a great tour, learned so much.

Wen was great as a guide . Very knowledgeable, informative, patient and accommodating. We scheduled for 11am, but my daughter's plane was delayed, and she rescheduled for 1pm. She was at the meeting point punctually, and accommodated everyone's needs, answered questions accurately, and was an encyclopedia of information. Great job Wen.

Roma. Basilica of Saint John Lateran. The apostle James the Great (1715-1718). Camillo Rusconi (1658-1728). Mármol. This colossal work (425 cm. high), is one of the most extraordinary sculptures in Rome. The unparalleled expressiveness and beauty of the apostle’s face, as well as the magnificent quality of the finish of the robe and mantle, make it deserving of the admiration of those who visit the Basilica of St. John Lateran. Rusconi adapted the contained attitude of François Duquesnoy’s statue of Saint Andrew in the Vatican, reworking the head position and the expansive gesture, in order to create an image of supernaturally inspired determination. The artist managed to preserve in this effigy of the apostle the best elements of the Baroque style, containing its excesses to show, in Santiago el Mayor, a heroic nature.
