The tour guide was nice, but it was very disorganized. They tried to leave us, even though we arrived on time (but not early, like they wanted). She didn’t really provide much information because each location had its own tour guide, but it was nice to be guided to those catacombs and have a van transport I guess. Also, when I tried to meet up with one of the tour guides to return a radio, the communication was horrible and I was left waiting there for 25 minutes in the cold. They couldn’t bother responding to me. I ended up leaving and told them to just go pick it up at my hotel.

Guide was excellent, yes you could do the Catacombs and Crypt by yourself but the guide provided so much extra information before, during and after each visit.

Very interesting tour! The tour guide was prompt and very knowledgeable. First, we went to the Capuchin Crypt. Not what I expected...they actually made artwork out of the bones! Then we went to the catacombs which was interesting. Our last stop was the church of Santa Maria where we saw Hadrian's crypt. The tour ended near Trastevere, so we walked there to have lunch at one of the restaurants that our guide had recommended. Very enjoyable day.

The tour had a bad start when the guide’s little speaker wasn’t working well and we couldn’t hear. Luckily, it was just a few minutes inconvenience. We really enjoyed the Capuchin museum/crypts/church, especially the crypts. Our guide Iolia (sp?) was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and you can tell she enjoys her job. She narrated during the drive to the catacombs. A separate guide took us through them and they were quite fascinating! Then our guide drove us to the drop-off spot and highly recommended we go on our own to a coffee shop near the Pantheon for a coffee granita. We did, and it was amazing! Grazie to our wonderful guide!

This was not one of the most common tours but was very interesting and the guide was knowledgeable and engaging. CNN recently had a segment about the displays of bones in the crypts.

Not what you expect it is like going to a wonderful art museum. It does not give you the creeps like my husband expected it would. I highly recommend it to everyone. Its a great choice.

The crypto and catacombs were both interesting and very different in their own ways. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The use of a speaker at the beginning of the tour in the piazza with all of the traffic was problematic, but after the crypt visit, the whisper device worked well the majority of the time.
