The tour was great, lots of historic and interesting information about the catacombs and crypt. The crypt tour is really a self-paced tour through the museum and then into the crypts. i think this is something you could do on your own with the headsets they provided. we all got in vans to travel to the catacombs. the tour guide provided some information on the ride but because we were split into 3 vans her voice cut out at times when cars were separated. the catacomb tour was a tour-guided experience and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. that guide helped us understand the significance of the catacombs and that time period of Roman history. highly recommend a guided tour of catacombs. overall a very good experience.

Feel free to do this on your own without the guide. Catacombs have their own guided tour and the crypt have their own audio tour. The tour also skipped on the truth fountain which was includes in the itinerary . We saw another group going there even after the church was closed . Don't know what company they belonged to .

Monika was the best tour guide we have had in Rome. She was entertaining, thorough and her English was perfect! She taught us a lot and carried in depth conversations with our teenagers! All three of my teens felt comfortable to ask more questions!

Both catacombs were totally different but unique in their own way. The 1st catacomb has a wonderful museum with a painting from caggivagio( sorry if spelt wrong). The 2nd crypt was Underground and had tons of unique features. Our guide Fredirica was wonderful, imparting her knowledge to us.
