What To Expect

Shore excursion tour to Sete Cidades: After exploring several lakes around the area, hop on an all-terrain ride for travel along the craters of Sete Cidades. Visit the small local parish. Shore excursion tour to Furnas: Meet the most romantic town in Portugal. In Furnas, hot spring water is neighbor to the fresh spring water inside a volcano. See vegetation and fumaroles competing. Enjoy Furnas lake shore (a small trail hike can be included if wanted) and see how a traditional Portuguese plate is done in Furnas. Shore excursion tour to Lagoa do Fogo: Enjoy the natural blue hue of the natural reserve, Fogo Lake. Visit the Caldeira Velha with its hot waterfall and natural pool for swimming. Explore a 4WD trail to a fresh water waterfall (a small trail hike can be included if wanted). Witness evidence of volcano activity at Ribeira Grande, a small town in Caldeiras

Our guide, Gonçalo, was excellent. The pace of our personal tour was perfect. The knowledge and pride of his island country was thorough and inspiring...even his recommendation for a local bakery treat at a lakeside stop. Would definitely recommend this tour and Gonçalo.

A great driver / guide and a fantastic trip to Sete Ciudades! He drove carefully and skillfully with a four wheeler to places we would never ever been able to go by ourselves.

First of all our tour guide Consovalos(not sure I spelled it correctly)was easy to find and he was holding up a sign with our names on it.Consovalos is very knowledgeable about everything related to the island and I’m glad we got him for our tour guide!

Wonderful tour and guide Goncalo. We had a great day in the 4x4, circumnavigating the volcano crater on dirt tracks and of course roads! Stunning views, very knowledgeable guide and great personality. Followed by a trip to the thermal springs and tour of the north coast. Loved it all. Stunning scenery and all definitely worth doing. Perfect, exciting day out. Thank you very much! Full marks!

Very informative and the view is awesome , Telmo was an awesome guide and slowed for a more self paced tour. He stopped anytime we wanted to take pictures. I highly recommend Telmo!

We were overwhelmed by the personal and friendly experience that we had yesterday. We felt like we were visiting with family. The owner of the company took us on a personalized tour of all the things that you would never see on one of those commercial type tours. The weather was not great but we made the best of it. We saw such beautiful landscape, ate flowers. Yes we ate flowers lol we saw cows, tall grass as green as could be blowing in the wind and we went on trails and saw things that we never would’ve seen if we had been on one of those bus tours. We cannot recommend this tour and this tour company highly enough. We can’t wait to plan our next trip to come back. You won’t be disappointed if you go on this tour.

This was a fantastic trip. There were just the 2 of us and so we had a personal tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and made everything interesting. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip.

Our tour was amazing! Our guide, Mariano, was absolutely fabulous! I booked this on our own as a shore excursion from a cruise. Mariano was at the cruise terminal about 15 minutes early from our pre-established meeting time. A private 4wd jeep tour was definitely the way to go here! We could go places tour buses couldn't. Mariano was extremely informative. He gave us so much information about the Azores and Sao Miguel Island and answered any questions we had. On a half-day tour, you do not have time to see the entire island, so we focused on the west side and Sete Cidades. We were not disappointed, and the scenery was just beautiful! We highly recommend T4W and Mariano and would absolutely book them again the next time we are in Ponta Delgada.

We set up a trip to see Sete Cidades as an excursion off of our cruise. Our guide/driver Delfin came to the cruiseport in a Toyota 4 x 4, which was perfect and absolutely necessary for our half day outing. Delfin quickly felt more like a friend and was full of information and stories about the area. He had fallen in love and moved from mainland Portugal about a decade earlier. We very much enjoyed him and he knew all of the best spots for photo stops and how to avoid the bus tours. We also had a nice coffee and pastry break in a small town near the lakes that turned into a tasty highlight. I look forward to returning some day to the Azores and expect to use this company again.
