Overview

Water Puppetry is a traditional art form with distinctive culture identity of Vietnam. It came into existence, developed and diversified over a thousand years ago in the Red River Delta. Thanks to unique performances on the water, this puppetry art is famous and highly appreciated all over the world.

In early days, water puppetry showed the daily life of villagers such as farming, fishing, romance and children playing. Now, the topics of the plays are also picked from ancient legends, myths and historic stages.

This was one of the experiences I booked way before I came away as I didn’t want to miss out. It was simply magical. Such cute story telling and the music and singing was enchanting!

Interesting show. Nice to see. Kids will enjoy. Venue is OK. Show started on time and finished in less than an hour.

This was an enjoyable show. The puppets are about 1 foot tall 2 feet tall. I’d recommend sitting in the first three rows to get the best of you. Get the audio equipment you can hear the story lying about the puppets and the culture and what they’re trying to convey.

Very sweet show and very traditional in Hanoi so worth a watch Show 50 minutes so not too long but wished I had the headset to explain what was going on!
