5.00We highly recommend the 2-hour guided tour of the Statue of Liberty! We were able to book our tickets using credit card points, which was a nice bonus. Our guide, Joe, truly made the experience exceptional. As a friendly, informative, and engaging native Californian (just like us!), he provided the "unredacted whole story" of Lady Liberty's history. I thought I knew the details, but his insights went far beyond the basics, which we deeply appreciated. A huge plus was Joe's skill in navigating the crowds; he efficiently got our group through the long lines and up towards the front. On the return trip, there is an option to stop at Ellis Island for an unguided tour. However, most everyone looked exhausted after our comprehensive tour, and the majority of folks opted to stay on the ferry until we docked back in Manhattan. Bottom line: The two-hour guided tour is well worth the time and cost if you are traveling to the Big Apple.

5.00We had a wonderful tour- meeting at Battery Park and then taking the ferry over to see the Statue of Liberty. Then onto the ferry again to see Ellis Island. Our tour guide Christian was so friendly and knowledgeable and I learned so much history about both places. And Christian had an excellent octopus sweater on that he knitted himself! The weather didn’t always cooperate- it was a little cold and blustery but I feel like we got a full length tour. Nothing was cut short due to weather. Christian also helped us by taking an excellent photo of our group in front of the statue!

He made the trip most enjoyable with the engaging way he gave us lots of information about the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island and we also had some freedom to do what we wanted. We would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to visit the Statue of Liberty, which also gives the option of spending as much time you wish at Ellis Island or coming straight back to Manhattan.
